New fog server and Hosts not joining AD
hello, we have new fog server prepared, setting copied from another one working fine in diffrent location, but there is problem with new computers imaged not adding to active directory.
I checked the account, rights and password all fine. I did check also telnet server IP 443 and 80, pinged the server all ok.
The diffrence is that ubuntu server where this fog is installed is added to AD. Any tips what to check, why is not adding host to AD? I am adding log from host25.09.2023 11:49:54 Middleware::Response ERROR: Unable to get subsection 25.09.2023 11:49:54 Middleware::Response ERROR: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. RE: New fog dont boot from ipv4 PXE
@george1421 You were right, it was a problem with DHCP, our System team solved it by comparing it with another site, I don’t know the details, but it’s working now, Thank you for your help!

RE: New fog dont boot from ipv4 PXE
@george1421 I did sent you dropbox link to wireshark logs, let me know if you find something

RE: New fog dont boot from ipv4 PXE
@george1421 We was doing the test with tcpdump and wireshark, unfortunately no luck, between 2 vlans we have it fog server and vlan we do images, there is no Firewall, so its suppose not block anything
what can we check next? We have FOGs in a few locations, in every place, but the network configuration is the same, and only this new one with 1.5.9 is having this kind of problem…

RE: Snapins hash does not match on wireless
Sorry for no response till now, I tested with antivirus disabled, created new snapin, and add new file again. Old end up with hash error.
This machine have build in wifi and lan, now its error on both. In snapin history all task end with return code -1 after around 1 min time. What else I can check? -
Snapins hash does not match on wireless
Hello,
fog version 1.59 - RC
linux centos 7I am recently strugling with WPKG installation on wireless computers, ended up with Idea to run script via fog snapins, but I met with a problem

this is showing only once I trying to run the snapin on wireless. Snapin on the same machine on wired network goes through nicely (well beside script failing to work).
So I want to ask, if snaping will always fail when I switch network card and mac address? Can I have it work on both? If laptops only work on wireless should I try to image them via wireless too?
Please give some hints, explanations how to solve itthank you in advance!

RE: Stuck on About rEFInd
Hi, so I did change to version refind version 0.10.4 worked with my HP models, and capture new image, on only UEFI bios, and its working. @EduardoTSeoane made me think that I have only legacy compatible images so I tried to fix that. Thank you guys for help!
-
RE: Stuck on About rEFInd
@sebastian-roth Yes I am testing it every time too, always end with chainloading failed, and reboot in 10 seconds.
Edit: I found more options to exit boot:
a) IPXE General Configuration> boot Exit settings> exit to hard drive type (EFI)
b) Fog settings> Fog boot settings> EFI boot exit typeare they different, and what with “boot exit type” its also there which is to change here?
I also notice that “key sequence which is set to f12” is not recognized, and its always “ESC” instead, maybe its not sending settings to machine after changing to ipxe.efi?
Maybe I am missing something as I need in the new Image for this? I am open for suggestions
-
RE: Stuck on About rEFInd
Is there other ways to use UEFI, cause refind is really not working for me, I have checked a few versions, still no luck, and even if I found it finally, I am not sure it will work with a different HP model when we have like 4 and also hp laptops. Checking refind for every model seems endless work
-
Stuck on About rEFInd
Hello,
I received new machines with only UEFI boot option when until now, I was using Legacy successfully.- We changed DHCP option 067 to ipxe.efi
- Updated kernel from console with this article https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Kernel_Update
- Exchanged refind_x64.efi to version 0.10.9 cause we have only HP machines.
I can get to Fog deploy menu and choose to register machines, then its deploying image and all goes fine till its restarting and trying to boot to windows:
from this momenet only I can do is to restart computer or shutdown
What I can do?

RE: 1.5.9 RC2 - snapin hash not match on new computers
More info - from old fog I exported only hosts via web browser - old hosts when reinstalling have correct hash and snapins works smoothly. Issue is only with machines which I register.
No errors in fogsnapinhash.log -

First I thought it was issue with sysprep and new windows version, but image with snapin works fine with computers already in hosts list, only new one have a problem. How can I fix this? After checking the forum I saw that issue might be on Fog ver. 1.5.9. RC2 can I degrade it safely to stable 1.5.8 ?
