    • Client Registration Hangs

      Hi everybody.

So I’m trying to register some new hosts/clients on the fog server but when I try to do a full host registration and inventory I get an error saying “Unable to register host for the following reasons” but then it will start inventorying the PC. After that it will finish listing the PC’s hardware and it will say that it is “Attepting to register host…” and it just hangs there with the text scrolling up one line every few seconds.

I’m using Fog 1.2.0. I have already tried updating to the latest kernel. Fog is running on a Ubuntu 10.04 Server which is it self a VM running on ESXi 5.

I’ve been working on this for a couple of days now and it’s driving me crazy so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • Fog not running after log out

Hi everybody. This is my first time posting to this forum and I’ll try to be as clear and concise as possible. Let me preface this with the fact that I am still learning the in’s and out’s of Linux.

I work for a small company and we decided to start using Fog for PC deployment when went through a large hiring phase. It seemed easier than imaging the PCs one at a time. Fog has worked very well except for one problem.

The Fog server(Version 1.1.1) is hosted on a Ubuntu 10.04 running on an ESXi 5.x server, our DHCP server is separate from the Fog server. The issue is that if I’m not logged into desktop on the Ubuntu server Fog will not respond to requests from clients. As soon as I log in it works fine.

Is there anyway to get the Fog services to run in the background as a Daemon or something so that I don’t have to keep the server logged in to use it?

      Thanks in advance.
