The USB restore would be cool there have been lots of times in our business where we have a couple of fog servers that having the ability to restore images via a USB would have been cool and saved time

RE: Boot/deploy ISO's from the PXE-menu
I have this added to my PXE-menu:
LABEL System Rescue CD “Live Image”
MENU PASSWD m0nd30
APPEND scandelay=1 docache netboot=nfs://10.187.38.3:/images/sysrescue setkmap=uk
SystemRescueCD network boot image (recovery)
Then you just need to mount the iso from your OS.
RE: Offline Image
I have kind of got this working using both a USB Key and also a LIVE DVD with the image on. I use a modified version of sysrescuecd with some custome scripts and it all works fine. The problem I have is when the system image is over 4Gb as I can onlt seem to get it to work with FAT32 (so limited to 4Gb images) NTFS will get round this but I dont seem to be able to get a it work on ntfs. It would be great to be able in partimge to specify a file size and then for the image to be sliced up into those chunks, so it would prompt for file 1 or 3 etc etc.
My need for this is that sometime I have to image machines that dont have access to my FOG servers and also for engineers that visit site to replace hard drives so if this could be achieved that would be FAB !!!
ever thought of having a User hierarchy, ie i have some none technical poeple who i dont want to give full access to FOG as i dont want them to delete images or uplaod images but i do want them to be able to asociate images to machine registered hosts. this way i could create a noddy user and give it to them without worrying they may screw things up .

USB Stick / DVD Restores
Hi guys great product, i have been using FOG now for about 3 years and i love it i shout its praises all of the time, however do you not think it would be good to give users the ability to create a USB stick / images onto that can then be restore by no technical people in the field, I have done some work with Systemrestorecd with custom scripts and i can boot off a USB stick with the images on it using a really simple text menu the user has the option to prep the disk ie put a partition table on the disk so an image can be restore or just restore and image at the end it shuts down job done, problem i am starting to have is where the images are over 4Gb due to memory sticks being FAT32, dvd’s are even more of a problem, rather than having to go and spend time creating these myself as i bet other are, could they not form part of the bas product and how if the image is bgger than 4.7 Gb split it so it can be restore via multiple DVD’s etc. only a thought.
