This setup works for any pc/laptop except on Intel 6th gen. I got the same problem with HPs and Dells. I really don’t think that is a PXE problem. I can PXE and select in the menu from where I want to boot, winboot does its thing and when it looks like it will start to load the OS the screen goes black (death) and nothing more happens. Very weird.

      Thanks for the help

    • Boot from wimpe Intel 6th Gen Black Screen

I know this is not a Fog problem because it works in all the rest of the computers, just to see if anyone had got this problem before. I’m trying to use wimboot to boot winpe, but after the load on the winpe I got a black and nothing happens after that. Only in intel 6th gen. Tested right now with an HP 840 g3.

      Thanks!

    • RE: PXE Boot could not boot

Today I learned that when adding a new item to PXE menu “Menu Item” cannot have spaces. Instead type “New Item” you should type “NewItem”. When I checked the PXE config file using the link was kind of evident that this was the problem and in effect it was.

      Thanks for the help

      @george1421 said in PXE UEFI?:

@maikBat So you are using the fog server as your dhcp server? Is that on an isolated imaging network?

Yes sir, Fog is isolated in its own network.

      Ubuntu 16.04
      Fog 1.5.5
Unable to boot successfully from Dell Optiplex 3010 using UEFI. Works pretty good using legacy.

      Thanks

Just asking… no solution jet for UEFI boot over PXE? It works on some PCs and not in others. Any solution for this at this moment?

    • FOG API returning 404

      Hi,

I have a app that have been connected to my FOG server using the API. I installed a new server today and the API request is only returning 404. I tested with Postman and I’m getting the same result. Using http://fogip/fog/system/status | info endpoint just getting 404. The rest of the system is working as expected API is enabled and user API is enabled too. Also using tokens (API token, User APi token) on headers. Fog version 1.5.2.

      Thanks

    • RE: FOG API

@wayne-workman Just let you know that everything is working now. The problem was that I was using the “Host’s name” instead “Host’s ID” as parameter.

      Thanks so much

    • RE: FOG API

@wayne-workman I got everything setup in my server but when I try to send a post i’m receiving this:

      <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN”>
      <html><head>
      <title>404 Not Found</title>
      </head><body>
      <h1>Not Found</h1>
<p>The requested URL /fog/host/AABBCC/task was not found on this server.</p>
      <hr>
      <address>Apache/2.4.29 (Ubuntu) Server at 192.168.70.3 Port 9000</address>
      </body></html>

I’m using port 9000 because I have other service running on 80. I need to run fog and my app in the same server.
The Fog management, PXE and image clone services are working properly and the API is enabled.

      Fog running Version: 1.4.4

      Thanks

    • RE: FOG API

@george1421 I checked the API info, Is amazing to know that this is available. Now I have a couple questions:

Where I can find the task IDs? Will be great to have the “Task IDs” and other options related with them.

In summary, this is what I want to try to do:

      • Register a host (name:MAC, MAC:MAC, ImageID:ImageIDNumber)
      • Deploy Image on host
      • Unregister Host

I pretend do all this using php and json

      Thanks

    • FOG API

Hi, I need to know if FOG has an API implemented. I’m trying to build a script that to create “Tasks” for specifics computers. Is there any way to do this in an elegant way with the current version of Fog? If not, there is a way to get the specific table and fields that need be changed/added on the DB for do this.

i.e: I have a list of MACs. I want to deploy a specific image to these PCs without any user interaction. I know the Image ID Number.

      Thanks so much
