@lerne-nie-aus if i give static ip, than i can ping 8.8.8.8 and surf in internet.
I dont know why:(
@sebastian-roth so the problem is that host pc get ip by pxe boot and can deploy also image but after that it gets a apipa address.
I make ipconfig /renew and it can get ip Adresse.
But i can not ping 8.8.8.8
can ping Fog Server.
Even i can ping Fog Server, in logs i can see, the domain does not exist oder could not be contacted.
Must the host in that domain network?
I asked a IT-Worker and he told me, it must be not in domain network:)
Thanks for your all time, you are great community.
hi again,
i know, this question ist not new but i try the ways which you told.
But it doesnt work by me.
I installed the fog Client on Test host und set the AD Setting in Fog-Server Web GUI–>Host->Edit Host->Active Directory
here i check the box, join domain after deploy
i write the domainname and domainuser + pasword and click on update.
So if i deployed image to the Test host and go to Web Gui and change AD Setting to join, it should work fine or?
Where do i make my mistake?
------------ I tried also following from one User of this Forum-------
First, disconnect the domain.
Second, install FOG Client.
Third, configure the host/s with the AD Joining Information in the GUI.
Only needed if sysprepping.
Fourth, disable the auto startup of the client.
Fifth, sysprep the machine with shutdown
Done sysprep.
Sixth, create capture task.
Seventh, restart/power on machine.
It doesnt work by me too:(
@george1421 yes i can set the username and password in that setting by gog.deployimage. Thanks
Ah Ok, now i got what you told me.
It is the PXE Menü on Host and you can select the image which you want deploy.
My Question was, if i dont need to select this image and if i can set it up somewhere else as default.
Means i set an image as default und want to deploy this image to all hosts without selecting something in PXE Menü.
Or where i can find some batch file or unattendend.xml to check for zero touch deploying?
@george1421 thanks to you again:)
i can not find or set an image in fog.deployimage menü.
I can see just
Menu item, description, parameters, boot options, default item, hot key enabled, hot key to use, menü show with and make changes?
Sorry to bother you.
BTW i thougt a Fog Client Tools will be automatically installed on hosts, if i deploy images, isnt it?
Hi again,
ist ist possible to auto deploy image without registration and without credentials (fog, password)
i can set something in fog-quick-registration -->quickreg autopop - enabled
and
quickreg img when reg–> enabled.
But it doenst work,
thanks for your help.
@george1421 it is Win10, which i deploy on target clients.
I thougt, maybe it could be easiert as a script:)
@george1421 hi, yes i use Virtualbox:)
So tell me pls how i can solve this.
What you mean with cold startup?
hi again,
i get new Problem:(
I try to deploy an image to VM, all gone good, image deployed (i think und hope so) and by next booting over pxe, i get always this error message.
Do you know anything about this message?
No Configuration Methods succeeded (http://ipxe.org/040ee119)
BTW the Deploying on physical machine is no Problem.
It can get Fog Menü after PXe and bootet after 3 Seconds from hard disk.
Thanks for your time
@sebastian-roth thanks for reply.
yes it is just a Web Proxy for internet.
I want the host get also the proxysetting with deployment.
But i dont know who i can set it up.
Hi all,
sorry, i bother you again.
Could you tell me, if it is possible to give proxy setting for Host, which will be deployed with images?
Thanks, i hope, i can explain myself and the question:)
@sebastian-roth Thanks, i did it with rename.
I am not expert so i wanted give the options by instalation. Thats why i just renamed the .fogsettings file.
@george1421 thanks. i just remane the file and rerun the installer. So i could give the new values.
@george1421 thanks, you are realy great and i get quick answer, so i never lose my motivation to keep working on fog server:)
BTW, i wanted reinstall the Fog Server with installer but i can not change the install settings.
By first Installation i can give Router Adresse or DHCP Adrese.
Must i give this informations for Sophos Firewall by Fog installation?
Or is it better to reinstall or change the settings on fog Server, like Router Address oder DHCP Server?
Thanks again.
@george1421 so it means, i schould not use Sophos Firewall as DHCP Server for Fog Server?
The Problem is, i will have to use this It was not my choose.
I was happy with my fog dhcp (isc) but now i should change it.
Hi again,
i read that 2 options 66 + 67 for extern DHCP Server should be added.
I use the latest Fog Server on Ubuntu and i am very gladly if you could help me, which Changing i should do for this Situation.
I wanna user Sophos xg Firewall + Dhcp for my Fog Server on Ubuntu.
I dont know surely how i can do it clearly.
What Is the boot-file name ?
thanks for all your help
@george1421 Ok, thanks.
If so, i will not touch it:)
hi again,
i see now, that i have one more user on ubunto login screen.
It calls fogproject.
I habe no idea how it could be done. Have also no password for this user.
Do you have Ideas?
@sebastian-roth hey thanks for your quick Help.
With “Grub” Options in Host-Bios-Exit-Typ work all fine.
You are great.
