• FOG "could not find kernel image" when trying to upload an image

Hi, I am getting this error when trying to deploy or upload an image all of the sudden. I checked all of the paths and it looks like everything is correct. I also tried to download new kernels and also changed the path to the backup kernels and still received the same error:
“could not find kernel image bzimage not found”

Any advice would be appreciated.

• RE: Image stuck in boot loop

Try to kill all of the partitions on the drive before sending the image. I was having the issue because I was putting the drives on a SATA dock to see what was on them before using them. I would then format them while on the dock from a windows 7 PC and I believe that was the issue. I just went into Easus partition manager and deleted all of the partitions, put the drive in the PC and there were no issues. I believe I also recreated the original image because there was an issue in there as well because of that.

• RE: Fog .32 Single Partition Upload issue

Hi,
I am new to fog and am running 0.32 and I believe I am having the same issue. Does anybody know of a fix for this? If not which is the last stable build that I can try so I can get this working?

• RE: Image stuck in boot loop

update, after testing on another 160GB drive, the image will work. I still cant get the image to run on a smaller 40GB drive though. I thought I read that you can image to a smaller drive than what the image was created from. Any help would be appreciated.

• Image stuck in boot loop

Hi,
I decided to give FOG a try as we have been doing more and more imaging lately. I setup and installed 0.32 and every thing seems to be working from the server end of it. I decided to test this out on an old Dell Optiplex GX280 I had lying around and see how it worked. I took a 160GB drive installed a fresh copy of windows and used FOG to upload the image (single Partition, resizable) the image size was 6.5GB. I then swapped out the drive for a 40GB and set the image to Deploy to that computer, which it did and it showed no errors and everything looked ok until windows started to boot and the PC is now stuck in a boot loop. It will get to the windows XP screen and then restarts. the weird part is when I take the 40GB drive out and place it on the SATA dock it says it is not accessible. Any help would be appreciated.
