Stuck at bzimage and init load
Hi,
So just got some fresh Dell 7480 laptops that I’m trying to image with Windows 10. Ran into some troubles and figured I should update from Fog 1.2 to Fog 1.4.4. Continued to have the problem so I updated the kernel to the latest and again still having the issue. It starts the PXE boot and says ok next to loading bzimage3 and init.xz but then just hangs with a blinking cursor on the next line.

- I have a unique image. Once it completes i have to go into the config file and change the fog server address so the fog client will work.

Boot From USB
Hi All,
I’m trying to create a bootable USB image for FOG. The client doesn’t want to PXE boot because they have a Ghost server in place for that. They are trying to move away from Ghost but don’t want to mess with DHCP settings right now.
I’ve gone on and tried every way possible to create a bootable usb drive from the instructions on https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=USB_Bootable_Media but it’s just not working.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Fog Config File
My network consists of 4 different subnets.
172.16.x.x
172.17.x.x
172.18.x.x
172.19.x.xI have not figured out how to image across subnets so I have set up a FOG server at each location. However when I create a base image I have to go in and change the FOG config file after each deployment so that it will look for the local FOG server and then do its auto domain join and other tasks. Any way to put multiple servers in the config file so I don’t have to create a base image for each location?

RE: Lenovo L540 w/ Intel I217LM Ethernet Device - Won't load TFTP
So I believe I figured my issue out. I upgraded my FOG to 1.0.1 from .32 and I didn’t know about the PXE file name change. So I did that and it still didn’t work. I restarted the FOG server and still no success. Once I ran sudo restart tftpd-hpa it worked like a charm.
Alright Tom. Step in the right direction. However now I’m getting a TFTP timeout.
So I did a start/stop tftpd service on the FOG server and now im not getting the time out but its still doing what the video does above.
Building a 64bit bzImage based on 3.0.1 kernel. Hopefully this will help resolve this for you as I believe that NIC is trying to use the e1000e driver which I’m hearing has weird/mixed results.
Hi Tom,
Are you going to make the Kernel? That would be awesome.
do you have the Ethernet LAN option ROM set to legacy?
The only option in BIOS is Enabled or Disabled and I’ve tried both.

I’m upping a video to VIMEO now. Once it processed I’ll upload it.

RE: Lenovo L540 w/ Intel I217LM Ethernet Device - Won't load TFTP
in what way does it fail
It grabs the DHCP then I see TFTP and then it just goes back to the boot screen
what version of fog are you running
1.0.1
what kind of server do you have it installed on
Ubuntu 12
what settings did you use
Not sure what you are looking for here
does it only fail on that hardware, or all hardware
Just on this hardware. Works on my Dells.

Lenovo L540 w/ Intel I217LM Ethernet Device - Won't load TFTP
So I’m thinking its a kernel issue but any one have any recommendations on why I can’t boot into fog with this device?
