• RE: Client install issues - Legacy uninstall

@Joe-Schmitt Well I feel silly. I’d forgotten that I had posted this and had moved on to new things. And I came back around, looking for the solution again and lo and behold, I see that I had posted the question and there was a reply to it.

Anyways, yes, we upgraded from 1.2.0 to 1.3.4. We have the legacy client (from 1.2.0) on most of our systems and if I uninstall and try to install the smartinstaller.exe or the new msi, I get the message saying that I need to uninstall the old version.

• RE: Client install issues - Legacy uninstall

I’m having the same issue. I just updated the server 10 1.3.4 last night. I tried to update the client and it said that I need to uninstall the old version. I uninstalled from add/remove programs. Now it continues to say that I need to uninstall the old version. It is a 64 bit machine that I am working on, so I looked under HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall but didn’t find {91C5D423-B6AB-4EAB-8F17-2BB3AE162CA1}. I also did a search from the root of the registry for that key.

• RE: Join domain not working in 1.2.0

I agree, I also see Hostname changer module is disabled in the log. However, it is enabled both globally and at the host level. I’ve tried unchecking and rechecking both, to no avail. Once I delete and reregister the device, it then works correctly / reflects in the log correctly.

• RE: TFTP Open Timeout

I believe I found the issue. I had one DHCP scope in which I had missed updating option 67 to undionly.kpxe. It was still set to pxelinux.0 Once I changed that, it seemed to fix the issue.

• RE: Join domain not working in 1.2.0

I’m seeing the same issue. I just upgraded to 1.2 and my clients are not joining, with ‘Join Domain after image task’ being checked. It worked on .32. Fog.log shows the following:

HostRegister Exiting because only 1 mac address was found
HostNameChanger Module is disabled on this host
HostnameChanger Host name was not found in the database

Both HostRegister and HostnameChanger are checked (enabled) under Service Configuration.

• RE: TFTP Open Timeout

I’m having a similar issue. I updates to fog 1.2 and everything seemed fine. A little later, i noticed clients hanging on “TFTP Open Timeout” before iPXE could load. After restarting the server, clients loaded iPXE just fine. Then a little while later, they started hanging again. I checked server status of tftp and it said running, but I restarted the service anyway. Then clients could pxe boot again. But after a while, it goes down again. Any ideas?

I’m not sure what version of Ubuntu we’re running, I’ll post when I get it.

Dhcp addresses are handed out by windows servers on our network.

• RE: How To: Make progress bars appear for multiple-partition tasks

I tried editing the files myself and using the files provided. Neither worked for me. The image type is Multiple Partition / Single Disk and it is download status that is not showing. We are currently running 0.32

Does it show the status in 1.2.0?

Tom, should the link to the bzImage file have the fixes you made? And where do I go to change pxelinux.0 to undionly.kpxe? Thanks for your help on this.
