You still need to install/update your database schema.
This can be done by opening a web browser and going to:

http://192.168.2.1/fog/management

Press [Enter] key when database is updated/installed.
On clicking the link i dont get the update database page just the normal fog login.

• Svn upgrade failed.

i tried to upgrade to the latest svn from version 2580 to the latest svn version 2868 all seem to be going fine but when i tried to to the database schemea update when i click on the link , all i got was the login box for fog no update database option.

I have tried editing my .fogsettings file and adding in localhost as my servername but no joy

The server is not live yet but i was practically built and i hate to have to start from scratch,.

I dont have any error logs in /var/log/mysql

Any idea where to start debugging.
My .fogsettings is below.

• Capone query

I use the capone plugin alot but i have one query.

I have both partimage and partclone images , I was having a lot of issues with “this is not a partclone image” when trying to image using the the partimage images. I am copying them from the existing live server. anyway i now having them working if I use the host image download option but if i try to use capone, i still get the " this is not a partclone image"

1. Does capone support imaging of partclone and partimages?

2. Anyway to get it to recognise that the image is a partimage image and not partclone.

• RE: Fog 1.2.0 deploy issue

Having a very similar issue here.

about 10 images created in 0.33

I created the new image in the database and called it the exact name of the folder name of the image.
i copied one up as a test and enabled the flag in gui in settings.
I have the drop down box set to partimage and everything goes ok until this is not a partclone image error pops up.

I am using fog 1.2.0 on debian and the old version is 0.33 on debian.

any ideas?

• Debian netowrk manager

Hi I am having a issue with network manager.

i am setting fog up on a server with 2 network cards i want the following configuration on the cards
eth0 to be DHCP and eth1 to be 192.168.2.1

but when i try to configure this with network manager it seems to be setting both with same configuration of the static IP.

I tried editing etc/network/interfaces bit with my limited knowledge it didnt go well.

i had the following lines in interfaces file
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

auto eth1
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.2.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 0.0.0.0
eth0

any ideas where i went wrong or how can i use network manager to confiure a static ip and a auto ip.

mkdir /images/dev
touch /images/.mntcheck
touch /images/dev/.mntcheck
chmod -R 777 /images

Theres probably a better way, but that should do it.
Add a line to /etc/fstab to make it mount on boot.

any reason your drives are formatted as NTFS ?
• Linux command help

I am setting up a test fog install fog in the following configuration as i get the hang off fog.

1 hard drive with a debian install
default Fog Install with the images folder located in /images
I have have s/w riad mirror setup with 2 80gig hard drives formatted as ntfs its called mdo

What i want to do with is the following either way.

Mount md0 as /images i been told you can do this so it uses the riad as images or

change the storage management to use the md0 to store.

i cant work out how to do either as i am newbie and i am been handed the linux fog imaging server from another guy who has left.

I appreciate any help.
- PXE Boot menu

1. background image location is–> /var/www/fog/service/ipxe/bg.png Just keep the pixel size and the name same. FYI you will need to replace the file each and every time you update.
2. Does really matter were it is located on the Fog Boot Menu?
3. The steps to upgrade are very similar to what you want to do. You will need to copy the /images dir to the new server in location /images then you will need to create the image with the EXACT name of the dir’s in the /images dir. IF you were using 0.32 then you will need to change the image option to partImage from partClone. BUT if you were using 0.33b+ or 1.x.x then you keep the timage option to partClone. Yes then you may need to change the permissions to 777 on those dirs.

If I stated anything wrong here please correct me.
Thanks for the info.

I have copied in an image but i dont see the option to change to partimage. Ill probably change them all to partclone as i only got about 10 images anyway but reuploading the images to the new server. whats the advantages of partclone over partimage.
