kwisher: Glad I’m not mad, I thought I remembered v0.32 didn’t need Fogprep… Hmmm, it’s certainly a strange one. I may have to try the wipe and reinstall method the way things are going… Or use Clonezilla 😞

Would the kernel I’m running have any bearing on the upload process (i.e. determining the wrong format?), I’m still using the original one that comes with Fog I think!!

andyroo54: I haven’t tried it yet, would the kernel used to boot the machine have any bearing on things?
CBellG33k53: I thought Fog 0.32 didn’t need Fogprep from what I’ve read, I’ll try running it but I thought it just wiped the registry of mounted devices.
Sebastian M.: Hmmm, it would appear so, Clonezilla seems to do it’s thing pretty well with the same machine. Maybe the change to partclone will help!

    • Windows 7 image upload

I’ve just upgraded my Fog installation from 0.29 to 0.32. Really really impressed with how far it has progressed and the spanky new web interface is wonderful!

Unfortunately, I’m still having problems dealing with Windows 7 images which I thought the upgrade would resolve.

I currently have a machine (HP Compaq 6005) that’s ready to perform an image upload from and have registered the host, created the image slot as Windows 7/single partition resizeable and created a task to upload. The machine PXE boots fine and gets to the usual image upload screen (partimage) but for some reason it detects the filesystem as RAW rather than NTFS. I’ve even tried multiple partition/no resize and that still behaves the same.

The machine in question does not have the 100MB system partition and has had the usual things performed, chkdsk, defrag, etc.

      Any ideas?
