      fog2.png fog1.png

We try to monitor the multicast. After a moment, some machine freeze and screen didn’t update. The related machine in the active task is show 100% of deploy.

The other machine we cancel the task to make it as unicast to continue our works.

    • Multicast deploying shutdown pc

Hi, I have a strange problem that is appears in last few days. When I try to deploy a image using multicast, after a randomly time, it can be 75% or 60% the PC shutdown completly. I try to explore log in fog but I can’t see anything.
I have FOG 1.5.9 and try kernel 5.10.19 and 5.10.34 but nothing change.

I try to deploy image on a HP Prodesk G4. I didn’t have time to deploy on another models.

It’s work in unicast but it’s long to make all the lab in unicast instead of multicast.

About 2 week ago I deploy in multicast without problem and we didn’t change any network configuration.

      @Quazz
it’s a brand new machine with SSD drive. I didn’t have problem when I deploy an image on it, it’s work fine. I try to run a chkdsk on both partition, the reserved one and the OS, no error at all. But when I try to capture it to another image, it’s failed and leave the reserved partition in RaW mode and shrink the partition to less possible.

      Description

I try to capture an image from a HP prodesk 400 G3 but it always failed after the resize. It complains about maybe the Windows filesystem as an ntfs flag error. Before I run the capture, I run a chkdsk and even with Gparted I run a check on both partition, the boot and the OS partition but Nothing change. Before the resize when Fog try to cleaning the NTFS flag, it’s always in error with reg file not found.

I try to ftp the image server with the user fog to test if it’s a connection problem but it’s working I can browse the /images folder and create folder. When the upload task begin, a folder in dev folder is created.

After that my Windows 7 can’t boot and give me a BCD boot error. I need to deploy a image on it to correct it.

I have enough space on the server too.

      Thanks for your help

No, no need an intermediate switch. If I turn-off spanning tree, yes I need to put a intermediate switch, but if it’s on, it’s working.

      Hi,
Part 1: Yes it’s working. The setup for spanning tree is pvst (per vlan) I change it for rapid-pvst. My only option is mst, pvst or rapid-pvst.

Part 2: Yes the Web and TFTP server was still on the old IP Address

      Part 3: Yes.

      thanks for your help

Hi, if I put a unmanaged switch, the network getting up faster. If I leave in on my Cisco managed switch, with spanning tree turning off, I can’t have a DHCP offer, with spanning tree portf I have a DHCP offer.

But I’ve just realize too that I recently migrate my fog server to another server because I was unable to perform an in place upgrade of the old one. But at one place in the config, the old ip was still documented. So two problem was present

Hi, I try with a different computer who’s not registred. The pxe seems to be fine as you said, I got the PXE menu, when I choose to perform a full registration I got the same error.

The IP address obtained is the same as when the computer boot in Windows.

Yes my DHCP server is a Windows 2012 server and is set for all clients, Windows or PXE

@Tom-Elliott it’s a new bios, so I was thinking maybe it have difficulty with legacy mode. But I’ve just realize that with my change of partclone to partimage to partclone, it’s seems to srap my image. in the size of the image now it’s 0 on client and server column

@george1421 I follow the instructions from https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Upgrade_to_1.x.x#Operating_System_Information section old image so I change the partclone image type to partimage.
      partimage doesn’t start

If I try with another PC and another image, I follow the same process, change partclone to partimage, make a download task and partimage came and seems to make Something for a few second and after reboot, If I replace the type to partclone, the download task seems to works on the other PC.

did we really need to set it to partimage instead of partclone?
