Is it possible that your employer can get a USB to Ethernet adapter that is known to work with FOG?
Look at this list: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/WorkingDevices#USB_Ethernet_Adapters
We have tried this before however HP seems to have issues supporting Other Adapters lol… Plus we get Grants that are specific and in this case was a HP deal so we are getting 40 of the adapters with the laptops lol
Yes I have changed the Argument.
If someone has time I could give a teamviewer code and have someone look at my settings for me… I am always up for help.

@Dragnous When it goes dead can you try unplugging the usb and plugging it back in?

RE: iPxe initialising devices... Sticking
Played around last night for a time and still unable to get these laptops to work correctly with fog.
Still noticing that when I click anything in the fog pxe menu. after it loads the kernel and pxe image the adapter goes dead and has no connectivity.

1.2.0 is the latest stable version, but I do not believe those options were added untila later revision. You can upgrade to trunk which has been reliable and stable for me that last few months.
Of course make sure you backup first.
OK I have updated to trunk. Re sym linked the undionk.kkpxe file. get into fog menu and try to do a host reg and still gets stuck after /init.xz…Ok

RE: iPxe initialising devices... Sticking
Yay all updated however back to iPXE initialising devices … and I already changed tftp to reflect undionly.kkpxe
Edit: For what ever reason when i restarted my fog machine now its not detecting the HDD lol lovely…
Edit:2 I had to repair grub but back up and running. -
RE: iPxe initialising devices... Sticking
Oh interesting, I do not have that. I am using what I thought was the latest version 1.2.0

RE: iPxe initialising devices... Sticking

On the host management page
The same setting exists on the group management page, so you can apply it to a group of computers.
Ok so i take it I will have to manually register the host first, than add the argument

RE: iPxe initialising devices... Sticking
Question: Once Kernel is loaded and init.xz is loaded what happens next… I am fearing that its because there is a lack of drivers for the USB Adapter. I do have the Drivers for the device however they would need to be build into the Kernel correct?
Any more help that could be provided would be helpful as I have 2k of these devices coming for the school year and Id like to use fog instead of clonezilla. -

@Dragnous Do you get to the FOG boot menu at all now? Can you run the compatibility tests there?
Yes I get the menu and anything I try to do fog hangs and the adapter goes dead… Think its driver related but unsure.
