    • New Fog client silent install?
      Server
      • FOG Version: 1.3-RC10
      • OS: Ubuntu 14.04TLS
      Client
      • Service Version: 3.0.29
      • OS: Windows 10 Enterprise MSDN
      Description

I was attempting to install the new Client (to use on a brand new FOG Server) but I wanted to install it silently. After a few attempts at doing so with the old arguments, I started seeing if the arguments were even valid or present.
I ran the installer while logging with msiexec, as well as a VBS script I found online for argument extraction and the arguments did not seem to be present… I would post the file but the forum does not seem to be letting me. Does anyone know how to perform a silent/passive install?

    • Group clients clear settings

I know Devs are probably busy getting the next version as functional as possible, but I see that most of the Group settings and tasks issues seem to be related to all clients not having the exact same settings. I was wondering if adding a way to delete all main settings from group clients(Snappins, Image, Kernel, Bios, EFI, Printers, AD) so that they can be set to the group as a whole would fix many of the issues?
Right now Group Snapping does seem to add snappins to each client, however it will not show it in the group management interface. What do you guys think?

    • RE: Group Disk Wipe not working (FOG 1.3.0-RC-8)

@Wayne-Workman it is there yes, but for some odd reason the wipe tasks don’t work correctly. They do not queue. The image task queues fine but wipe tasks do not.

@Wayne-Workman I agree with you, in working in a lab environment in which we perform all kinds of penetration/defensive tests, I need people to be able to save their work before their stuff gets nuked. It wouldn’t hurt anything to have free control of how long the pop-up will stay up.

@Tom-Elliott Yes, all machines in the group had an image assigned, imaging tasks worked correctly, just wiping didn’t. There are a few things in the group GUI that doesn’t want to play well, if you add snippets they will technically add, but they will not show it. I decided to skip the wipes and just image them. I might do a full wipe once its implemented, thank you.

    • Group Disk Wipe not working (FOG 1.3.0-RC-8)

I have groups set up, but for some reason the Group Wipe functions (Fast, Normal, Full) are not working, the Image tasks however do work. Is this by design(I can only assume to avoid mass accidental wiping) or is it a bug of some sort? I cannot see anything helpful on the Access logs and/or task schedule logs.

    • RE: Invalid promptTime (Grace Period)

@Joe-Schmitt if it’s an easily modifiable setting I would simply like to know where it is, I want to be able to select hours, for example 5 hour Grace time, and possibly be able to control the max delay time also, increase the 10 minutes to perhaps an hour.

@davidedpg10 My FOG Server is Version 1.3.0-RC-8, thanks for the suggesting I state it. @george1421
The FOG Client associated with it seems to be 0.11.5

    • Invalid promptTime (Grace Period)

Hello guys, I have been playing with FOG for about 2 to 3 weeks, I have it all functional, but whenever I set the Grace Period above 600, the Client logs tell me “PM Service ERROR: Invalid promptTime, using default”, naturally the default time is 60 seconds, but I wanted to make it something like 3 or 4 hours, is there any setting anywhere that would allow me to do that? I want the tasks forced but I want people to have plenty of time to save whatever they need saved.
