• RE: Tftpboot folder
Export your database using mysqldump.
reinstall fog
import your database using mysql
That should get you mostly there. There might be a password somewhere that needs updating but wait until you get an error before you go changing anything.
When exporting, what options should one choose? I did a test run and chose “all tables”. is there a tutorial somewhere to back this up off the server and restore it?

• Security flaw in MySQL

Just came across this:

http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2012/06/security-flaw-in-mysql-mariadb-allows-access-with-any-password-just-keep-submitting-it/

The affected versions …, include those provided with the following Linux distributions: Ubuntu Linux 64-bit (10.04, 10.10, 11.04, 11.10, 12.04 ), OpenSuSE 12.1 64-bit MySQL 5.5.23-log, Fedora 16 64-bit, and Arch Linux. • Network traffic load from the Fog client to server communication

We recently had an issue where the Fog client at PC’s imaged with our first Fogserver were looking for it by IP address, and that server was down at the time-we were migrating to the new one. This created arp requests: "Who has “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx [FogserverIpaddress]?”

We used the old server to update those clients with “Fogserver” instead of the IP of the old box and this fixed the problem.

Should the current server ever be down, for an extended period, should this traffic be anything we have to worry about if it reaches a certain amount on the network? 20%, 50%, 75%?

• Win7 manual partimage up/download

We have multiple partition (2)-single disk W7 images. We were wondering [if it is possible]what the correct syntax would be to boot to a usb drive, with linux on it, manually run partimage, as in the troubleshooting steps and either back up the drive to it or reload a drive from images copied to it. Or, with Ubuntu on the USB, a working install of Fog, could the web interface be run locally?
