      Just to add to this issue

      When I type in 127.0.0.1/fog/management it changes the url to 127.0.0.1/fog/management/?node=schema

      If i disable the apache2 service it doesn’t change the url, restart it and it does again so something is working right, just not showing me the portal!

    • Cant access management portal

      Hey all,
      My FOG has been running great for some time. Recently we had some drama on the network (long story!) which meant we have to just turn off FOG asap, no grace nothing, just end the VM. This had to be done due to domain membership changes.

      I have now started the server again with a disabled virtual network card so that I can go in and adjust the AD domain details. unfortunately even going to 127.0.0.1 it wont load the portal. I just get a blank white screen.

      Any thoughts?
      Thanks

      Perhaps a more simple way of asking the question would be - How can I stop the default FogSettings Active Directory settings impacting a specific host. Will the AD settings on the host be overwritten by FogSettings config?

    • Using FOG across 2 domains

      Hi All,

      For the next 3 weeks or so we are going to be in the process of swapping from an old domain that we no longer have over to a new domain. Currently I have 3 offices with 2 on the new domain and 1 on the original domain.

      I haven’t yet had to fog a machine in the 2 offices that are on the new domain but now I am.

      How can I ensure that machines running fog images and fog client on the old domain (of which there are many) stay on that domain but that this single machine is on the new domain and doesn’t try to get auto switched back by fog?
      Hope that makes sense.

      Thanks,
      Matt

    • RE: Image Replication Across Storage Groups

      @wayne-workman Thanks for that.
      I am trying to confirm that now I have an image replicated to a storage node on my remote site, should i image a pc in that remote site which is made part of that remote site storage group it will pull the image from that node, not the master Fog server on my local site.

      Hopefully that all makes sense!

      @Wayne-Workman Dont worry, was a Linux permission issue on the 2nd data disk. All sorted and replicating as we speak!
      Thanks.

      Just to confirm, any machine I put into the same storage group as the storage node will pull the data from that box rather than the Full Fog master server, is that correct?
      Thanks.
      Matt.

      @wayne-workman
      Thanks, looks like thats all sorted. The problme seems to now be the file path specified on the Storage node
      Also, can you confirm what the “deleting file…” is about, that image is in use on live systems so dont need that disappearing!

      Thanks for the reply @Wayne-Workman. I have the master node and the storage node configured and working but the master node wont replicate the imkages over to the storage node. the membership is as follows.

      I am guessing that the problem is that the master and slave are in different storage groups?

    • Image Replication Across Storage Groups

      Hi All,
      I have got 4 office locations and, at the moment, 2 FOG instances. One master at location A and in storage group 1 and one storage node in location B win storage group 2.

      what i want to end up with is a storage group for each location with a storage node in that location (Physically and in FOG config) but the single master in location A. This would then allow image management for all remote storage node locations from my base office location.

      Is that possible?

      Thanks,
      Matt.

      @george1421

      I would like to have the images on the main FOG server stored in the default local location.

      On the storage nodes I want to have a smaller drive for system and fog install and a second disk for image storage, that way images cant fill up the system drive and cause me problem down the line.

      The other thing I am not sure about being correct at the moment is the image and ftp path set in the storage management section. I am wanting to store the images on the storage node on a 2nd VHD, not the system drive but not sure how to reference it in the FOG management UI
