We have imaged 20 workstations with fog. We used quick-registration to register the hosts to fog.
Now i want the Serialnumber of the workstations, in the inventory-summary (cmd output after quick registration) the SN is published.
Unfortunatley i can’t see the SN in the Export-Hosts csv.
Is there a other way to get the SN and all other data from inventory like ram-configuration?

any suggestions to my problem?
yes i have postet with double backslashes
Hi,
i tried to link a client to print-server with FOG-Client.
Installed a Windows Server 2012R2 with Printermanagement, setup a simple Printer (shared -> \server\printer1)
In FOG-GUI -> Printer Managment -> Create new Printer -> Network-Printer -> inserted Path to Printer “\server\printer1”
Added Printer to Host, and Host-LOG means:
FOG::PrinterManager Failed: it looks like the local printer is missing.
Fog-Client should create this printer so why the printer missing, so this error is not very helpful… or iam wrong? ó.Ò
Have searched in wiki (https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Managing_FOG#Group_Printers), but the videotutorial is down or wrong linked… =/
Regards,
confused cotec
okay, the folder should have the same name…
The folder is named the same, size in Image management is still 0iB
is a reboot or service restart required?
edit:
SOLVED!
Notice: FOG create the folder without dashes (-)
renamed the Folder from “Phase1-without-Progs” to “Phase1withoutProgs” and it works
cd /images
mv Phase1-without-Progs Phase1withoutProgs
Thanks dude
had checked this article and YES there was a blank password field in “fog-settings” and “storage node”.
Problem is - i still get 0iB - is this Image broken?
Its necessary to upload image again or is it lost in a undefined folder that i can copy back to /images?
If there are commands to do, i would be nice to write in the wiki…
sure iam not the only one with this problem…
solved, thanks @ CanHasDIY in ubuntuforums
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1094853.html
do following:
sudo ./installfog.sh
IMPORTANT: Use “sudo” always, regardless if u are root or “normal” fog user.
Hi,
i installed an ubuntu 14.04 in a productive network and have installed fog_1.2.0.tar.gz.
During installation sql-error occured and the installer can’t finish.
I don’t know why its failing because is set up the same machine and used the same commands in an other network and already is fine…
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ALTER TABLE user ADD column Show_view_priv enum('N','Y') CHARACTER SET utf8 NOT ' at line 1
160114
initctl: Unknown job: mysql

Setting up and starting MySql...Failed!
Script sone, file is /var/fog/foginstall.log
Here some details and logs:
during installation: is this normal?
after failed installation:

Need help =(
Thanks

Re: Image on server size 0.00 iB
Hi,
i have read the article linked above, but my question is: Is the Image on the server working or broken? The permissions wasn’t correctly set during upload-Task…
Further question, fog-settings have username and password for tftp, how can i fix it?

@cotec, you need to deploy the snapins before the client will run them. Goto your host, select’
Basic Tasks
->Advance
-> EitherSingle Snapin
orAll Snapins
.
thanks fot the hint, i thought link the snapin to host/group is all. Okay there must be a task to install - check.
edit: it works - the snapin is installed
edit2: I have configured “Reboot after install” in Adobe Reader Snapin - the PC reboots every 5 Minutes and the Snapin-Deploy-Task won’t kill in Taskmanagement. Its necessary to kill manually?
“Active Snapin Tasks - State: In-Progress” - but it is installed…(?)
same problem here.
fog.log on client-side says:
08.01.2016 11:47 FOG::SnapinClient Attempting to connect to fog server…
08.01.2016 11:47 FOG::SnapinClient Module is active…
08.01.2016 11:47 FOG::SnapinClient No Tasks found for: <mac>

08.01.2016 11:52 FOG::SnapinClient Module is active…
08.01.2016 11:52 FOG::SnapinClient No Tasks found for: <mac>
on server side there are 2 snapins configured and linked to hosts
7-zip and Adobe Reader
What OS are you using on the FOG server?
Ubuntu LTS 14.04.3 -> ubuntu-14.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso
What version of FOG are you using. I will guess 1.2.0, but did you upgrade to the trunk version (i.e. pre 1.3.0)?
1.2.0
yesterday evening i think about this options and now i am sure that i mixed up with Norton Ghost.
In FOG u build the the Hosts to Groups and if all Groupmembers ready then starts the Multicasting-Task.
As is told, in Ghost there was the 2 Options (‘wait for last member then start’ or ‘start on my command’)
confusing on my side - already fine…
u can close this thread
Hi,
currently i read the Multicasting-Artivle in the wiki.
I know thats possible, but i can’t find the point to configure.
There was a option for Multicasting-Tasks to:
see image: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/images/3/3d/Queue.jpg
The limit of workstations which can imaged at the same time (limit) -> where do i config this?
Is this the “FOG_MULTICAST_MAX_SESSIONS” – Max number of sessions [Default: 64] ?
Why there are more options in the wiki than the WebGUI?
Regards,
cotec
sorry iam german, hope u understand what i mean

The user which i can setup in FOG-WebGUI are admins or user? has this user access to webgui?
forget my question…
@both: Thank you very much, have found both Options
A Question about the “hide menu”: there is a username and password needed.
If a customers-workstation is broken and i need a fresh image, the customer needs this user/password, or iam wrong?
The user which i can setup in FOG-WebGUI are admins or user? has this user access to webgui?
Hi,
i plan to image ca 40 pc’s in near future with multicast.
i tried to test multicast with the wiki article (https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Multicast)
problem is point 4 of client
Now boot up 1 client go to your FOG Menu and select debug mode.
Problem is: Where do i setup or configure the debug-mode? I haven’t a menupoint that called debug and there is also no task that i can perform.

cotec
