I’m trying to use the scheduled tasks option but not having any luck. I can schedule a one time task and the task appears to be created ok. I get the Green check mark showign the task has been schedules. It shows up in the scheduled tasks screen. But when the scheduled time arrives, nothing happens. Then later at some time the task disappears completely.
What is the flow of events that should happen as a task is scheduled? How can I follow it through the steps to troubleshoot if it’s working correctly? Does the FOG service on the client have to be setup with certain options fo rhtis to work?

RE: Deploy or Upload Confirm Task Web page freezes
OK, Lets try this a different way. Does anybody have an documentation on troubleshooting the web page code. The general flow of events??? It seems like the there may be a command that’s attempting to execute but can’t for some reason. If i can find the flow chart for this section of the web interface I might be able to find the problem.

Deploy or Upload Confirm Task Web page freezes
I have FOG .28 on Ubuntu 9.10. It’s been working fine until the other day. The problem is when I try to deploy an image the Confirm Task page come up, I click “Image all Computers” button and the page freeze. The small FOG Mesage window never slides down from the top of the screen. I can’t navigate to any other tab.
The only thing I’ve done in the last few days is deleted 3 old pending tasks from the /TFTPboot/PXElinux.cfg folder that were over three months old and were not showing up as active tasks. And I’ve been copying my master images to a backup server then deleting the /images folder.
This server is a MASTER server and I use remote node servers to host the actual images that get deployed to the PC’s. The remote servers are also the PXE/DHCP servers. The images are moved to the node servers via a custom script since it’s a satellite link.
I’m not a linux expert by any means and I’m not sure where to start.

RE: Can different versions of FOG work together?
Thank you for your help. I’m hoping to dig up some spare time in the next month or so to start moving on this. I will let you know how it goes.

Can different versions of FOG work together?
I have a very large FOG setup. I run one Master FOG server, then over 500 Node servers positioned throughout the world. All the PC’s PXE boot from the local node server and then pull the live IPs from the local satellite modem DHCP server. I didn’t build the system, I just fell into it and have been maintaining it. We are using FOG version .28 on all the servers and each one runs on VMware ESXi 4.1. Currently all 6000 plus PC’s are Windows XP and in a workgroup. I need to upgrade the PC’s to Windows 7 (still no domain) and possibly upgrade the FOG system to a newer version. My initial question is do I have to upgrade all the servers at once or will the .28 version node server work with a new verison on the master FOG server? And will I have to upgrade the node servers at all?
