    • Deployed a centos 7 vm and having issues with installing MariaDB

I cloned a centos 7 machine and I am having problems. I made a centos 7 vm with 1gb memory and a 20 hard drive with a non-resizable disk. I made another centos 7 vm with same specs and deployed the image just fine.

I changed the host name and ip address. Did a yum update.

First noticed problem trying to install Mariadb Server and Maria-Client.

Is there a “gotchya” that I missed. This is the first time I cloned a Centos 7 machine.

What about additional drivers? Did you put all the drivers in a folder on the image to configure after deploying the image or use Microsoft ADK for that?

Is making the virtual machines with vmdk virtual hard drives going to be a problem with capturing images?

I have Fog Project running properly on centos 7 vm on a VMware ESXi 5.5 server and I have a Windows 10 upgrade open license.

articles I am looking at for golden image creation are:

If anyone has better guides out there please share.

      Thanks

Do you guys use sysprep in the process of creating your golden image? I am currently using it but I am beginning to think its not necessary if you prepare your image the way you want it then deploy it.

@george1421 Don’t know about the C# client. I know I am using the vSphere Client 5.5.0 Build 3237766 with VMware ESXi server 5.5 Build 3568722.

How do you configure joining a domain and local accounts on your images? Do you join the domain after deploying your image?

I am using a VMware ESXi 5.5 server. Does the UEFI/BIOS layout come from the actual vm hard drive? I was thinking it pulled that from the autoattend.xml file?

Well the process is working now. I think I have to redo the image to use UEFI partition for it to work. I will give you guys an update soon.

Thanks, I synced the passwords, re-ran the installer, and watching it try to upload the image now.

I reverted back to a previous snapshot and managed to upload a image!

However an error has been detected.

I created the image from Win10General, then fully registered a new host to boot to the image.

Well it would just not do anything when after clicking the delete button. I could do a network boot on the client and remove it from there.

It have have something to do with the computers, they are HP ProOne 600s and HP EliteOne 800s running HP SureRecovery… I had to enable legacy pxe boot and disable secure boot for them to see the Fog Server.

From the web UI I can’t power down or do a WOL to the HP ProOne 600. Web UI reports it successfully updated the host. Where are the troubleshooting logs at?

Is there a problem somewhere if I can’t delete a host on the fog project server, but I can get on a host pc and delete itself from the pxe menu?

Not alot of systems…I am looking at 150 systems at the most. MDT is a good idea, I am looking at it now.

What has me stumped is I already have a install.wim file where that guide says you have a install.esd file that you have to convert to install.wim… that I can’t seem to export just the index 5 Windows 10 pro out of it. I was able to delete the others but then the Windows System Image Manager fails to generate a catalog.
