@george1421 Yes. This fixed issue. Had to do a few other updates you pointed out but worked when I tried a full registration. No pause anymore. Thank you!

RE: Fog stops at init.xz...18% and other percentages
Hi, This is what I get and take a look at buidling code after I do all the steps and nothing changed. I ran Run the following command to ensure your iPXE files have a current date on them. ls -la /tftpboot/*.efi and looks like some of them changed to todays date and others did not. Not sure. Seems to be only this model of computer? Thanks

Fog stops at init.xz...18% and other percentages
HI,
We have one model that we are having trouble with loading. HP ProBook 440 14 inch G10 Notebook PC We have been using Fog for years and have used recently with other models and HP Probook 440 G8 and G7. I can still image them. So it will load to Fog stops at init.xz…and different % each time. I updated to 1.5.10.34 and still no go. We were using 1.5.9 and thought updating might help. I see other problems like this but not really understanding how it can be fixed. Is it a fog problem or is something blocking somewhere else. I feel if was somewhere else fog wouldn’t work at all. Appreciate any guidance you may have. We have used ipxe.pxe, ipxe.efi and undionly.kpxe for boot and that usually works. Thanks

RE: Renaming Windows10 Device with Secure Boot
@george1421 So I can ping from Windows computer but not our fog server. I can look into that but if you have ideas on how to fix that would be great. As far as Fog changing settings for UEFI may I ask how that could happen? Some type of setting or just could happen? I have had success with a couple computers and renaming but had a few and just wanted to see if secure boot had anything to do with. Also, if we are using secure boot any easy way other to having to disable to image or that only way. We are fine because seems to be security but just asking. THanks

Renaming Windows10 Device with Secure Boot
Hi,
Just wondering if we are going to have trouble with renaming a computer in fog/Active Directory with Secure boot enabled? I know we need to have secure boot off to image but wondering on renaming? Attached is what I see as a computer? The red ! was a question I had because says No such device or address. I did have success on one with secure boot enabled but just wondering because of having trouble with others. We are on 1.5.5 so would be better if we updated to 1.5.9? Thanks.

RE: Deleting Hosts
@george1421 If I delete a device that is still in production on the network. It will not remove from domain or lose connection? Also, if I have a machine named ittech20 and remove that from database when I restart in pxe will the computer still be named ittech20. So if I delete all of them since the machine still has service running on will it talk back to server and sync to database? Just trying to decide if I want to dump all of them? I get it has not affect much but want to make sure before I delete hosts. thanks

Deleting Hosts
Hi,
Just wanted to know best practices on deleting hosts. We have some old hosts in our database and want to get rid of most of them but not all. Recommendations? If I delete a computer that is registered to fog what a the downfalls? I look at this as imaging and after is communicating but my concern is user logging in and causing issues with our setup/production/network. I don’t want to cause big issues but I have heard of users deleting hosts after every summer. We are a school of about 1500. We are on version 1.5.5 Thanks for any info you may have or reccomendations you have. Thanks

RE: UEFI boot Instead of Bios boot
@george1421 Thanks for the info. I will look into some more settings on machine but think you are right on older hardware. I will keep you informed on newer machine I do next week. Thanks

RE: UEFI boot Instead of Bios boot
@george1421 One is a lenovo 11E laptop and other one is HP4300 Small form factor desktop but I don’t have any of those policies in place yet. I just wanted to make sure the policies don’t affect anything else on server/network before we implemented. These are old computers and we will test on a brand new computer next week. I didn’t have access to the newer computer until next week so figured I would test and see what happened on what I had. Don’t you think I need these policies in place for it to work properly for UEFI? I mean ipxe.efi wouldn’t work without those policies in place would they?
If we continue to use BIOS for a while on other devices is it just a switch on 067 when I want to do a boot up? Don’t want to make too complicated just wondering if can work at same time? If you don’t recommend that is fine.

UEFI boot Instead of Bios boot
So here is what I have tried. I have tried to switch my settings on my DHCP Server 067 from ipxe.pxe to ipxe.efi, intel.efi, Realtek.efi, snp.efi, and snpoly.efi without any success. I either get iPXE is initializing devices and hangs or chainloading failed/ booting loop. The link below I think are my answers but want to make sure. https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_and_UEFI_Co-Existence
Questions with this:
UEFI boot will not work without these entries from link above?
I have 066 and 067 setup already working with BIOS boot. Different computers I have had to tinker a little with this but not much. 067 had to change a few times. I don’t need both but can I use both BIOS and UEFI at same time? Explain if you can. Thanks
These entries will be on a domain controller (2016) running DHCP so making changes, I am a little hesistant that will affect other things? So, will these entries affect anything with my current network/Server? Recommend backing up server before entering these? I see them as entries just for booting up with FOG but want to make sure. I am not an expert(feel I am just dangerous enough that I could get in trouble if not warned) and want to make sure all is covered before I make any changes.
Anything else that anyone may find useful on UEFI boot up instead of BIOS. Still learning pros/cons and what benefits and how to use UEFI boot instead of BIOS. Any guidance is helpful. Thanks!! -
RE: Fog Server still using DHCP after I thought I removed everything
@george1421 Here is a picture of now. I also ran ps aux|grep dhcp in picture 2. Seems to be off now after I ran: So one question if I update will it enable these? Just want this to stop which I think it is and I restarted a few times and not seeing it running.
sudo systemctl disable isc-dhcp-server
sudo systemctl stop isc-dhcp-server -

Fog Server still using DHCP after I thought I removed everything
So I have attached a few images on what system looks like in configurations. I thought DHCP was stopped on this server but still having machines pick it up.
I was told to do: Just set dodhcp to N inside of your /opt/fog/.fogsettings file and re-run the installer. From command line I can not get to those settings…must be doing something wrong. I can get /opt/fog but won’t let me into .fogsettings says not available. I thought I had done this and got into settings to change but I am not a ubuntu expert.
I recently went through the setup as I updated to last fog release recently and image 1 will show DCHP is not running and instructions on how to make FOG work without DHCP server as FOG server.
Image 2 is what I run to see if I can see DHCP entries.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

RE: DHCP Server Change
@wayne-workman Just a quick question. Not a Ubuntu expert. Going to try this tomorrow but when I go to /opt/fog/.fogsettings can I get in there edit directly or will/can I do from command line. I think I have tried to get in by clicking on and said I didn’t have access even though I am administrator. Just wanted to know best option to get into .fogsettings
I also found this in forums. Just want to see if this maybe option. You can use “dpkg --get-selections | grep dhcp” to get the exact package name. I believe it’s “dhcp3-server”, so “sudo apt-get remove dhcp3-server” should get it.Thanks for help!

DHCP Server Change
Hi,
We recently changed over to a new DHCP server last week and now when we reboot machine it is using our Fog server for IPv4 DHCP server. It is also using our old DNS server info. So new DCHP is not taking new settings but is taking our fog server IP address. If I turn off fog server everything works fine but it is when fog server is on that causes this. So new DCHP server has new IP address and is also doing DNS. Settings for bootfiles 66 and 67 are same in the new server. I took a screen shot because I reran installer thinking it might need to be run. I did find an interesting line in the setup and wondering if this is causing it. It says using Fog DHCP as YES. DHCP router address is still the same as we have used in past. Any advice or suggestions would help. Seems to be FOG server causing issues but guessing it is just a setting. If I can have any info on how to change settings that would be great also. Thanks -
Keyboard and Mouse Function Lost after Sysprep
Hi,
We are deploying a new Windows 10 image(Updated to latest service pack which is 1803). We created an image and captured it on fog server. If I deploy that image all keyboard and mouse functions work after deployment. We then sysprepped this image–>captured image on fog server and then deployed to workstation. After it is deployed we lose keyboard and mouse function. I did this on a couple different machines. One worked and two others did not. I am going to check options and bios info on each of them but would like to know if anyone else has had similar experience. I did a google search on sysprep and errors with keyboard/mice and they are out there but looking for recommendations. We are using HP 4300 SFF machines.

RE: Updating Fog to newer version and Pending Mac Addresses
@sebastian-roth I found a different article on this and got my answer. Has to do with Ubuntu updates that is causing my database connection to have problems. Thanks
