Hello all,
My production fog server doesn’t work, obviously. The issue that I’m getting is, when I try to do a host registration (quick or full), it always fails at the hard drive test. It says that the hard drive can’t be found. Obviously, I have a hard drive in the client computer. I run a compatibility test in the FOG pxe interface, and it passes the network test, but doesn’t pass the disk test. Furthermore, the interface states that this information may be useful:
00:1f.6 Ethernet controller [0200]: intel corporation device [8086:15f9] (rev 11)
Don’t know why, as this isn’t an NIC issue, but maybe it is, I can’t tell. I’ve been having this issue for a WHILE. I’ve already switch kernels countless times to custom kernels, and official releases. I’ve updated FOG itself, everything. I’d imagine that I would need to create a custom kernel with the drivers for this particular motherboard/hard drive, but I wouldn’t even know where to start, to be honest. ANY Input and guidance would be GREATLY appreciated, since I need for this fog server to be fully operational in a couple of weeks, and these Dells are a large majority of the environment this server is being built for. I’m willing to do any reading and learning, just send the links. Thank you.
