    • RE: Fog saving filenames instead images in /images directory

@robertkwild i have refind issues (causes a kernel panic, and my automation requires refind to work) with 1.5.10 that i haven’t been able to work around - i’m still sadly on 1.5.9 until i can get it figured out. That’s probably going to be my next forum post after hopefully getting this issue sorted.

i’m glad to see that i’m not the only one having this problem though…

Having read the requests from the mods before posting:

@george1421 I do see several subdirectories with MAC addresses for folder names in /images/dev

Also, the response to @Sebastian Roth is:

    • Fog saving filenames instead images in /images directory

I have several images that I created a while ago that are working properly.

However, I tried to create a new image, and the image shows on the management console as being uploaded, and the image reports an appropriate size when looking at the image on the images list, but when I look at the console of the server, the /images directory only has a filename with the name of the image.

Trying to download this new “image” produces an error saying that the file does not exist.

I saw another person had this exact issue, but hadn’t responded past the initial post.

    • Changing the internet connection test to use something other than ping for corporate users

Some corporations block the use of ping, so testing the internet connection with ping always results in the installer saying that the internet connection test fails, despite the package manager, curl, wget, ect. being able to go out to the internet and do their job.

Would like to see the test changed to something like wget a file from FOG’s website, and use the result of that to determine the internet connection, instead of ping. It would be a more reliable test to verify that files can be pulled.

      Thanks!
