    • FOG Snapins and LGPO

Does anyone have a solution for updating the LGPO on a workstation via a snapin? I currently have a snapin pack with the LGPO.exe, the lgpo file, and a batch script to execute the lgpo.exe. However, the fog client runs as the user SYSTEM.

I looked into runas but that seems to require user input in the terminal. There was a solution where I could change the admin password to blank and use runas to bypass that step but I want to avoid that.

      1. Is there a solution that I can create to push the snapin and run the .exe with admin privileges?
      2. Is there a recommendation as to how I could update LGOP using FOG?

    • RE: Unable to add a new SnapIn

I restarted my fog server and made sure that the fog server node also had a copy of the snapins on the server. After that, I added the snapin and gave it about an hour before I moved on to checking the snapin list.

    • RE: FOG 1.6 Client autoupdate issue

@Sebastian-Roth After I run sysprep on an image, I noticed that both FOG Service 0.11.17 and 0.11.16 are installed on the image. When I deploy that image, I am unable to push snapins to the workstation. I get the same errors in the fog.log that Greg posted.

@Sebastian-Roth This is my current issue and I am currently working to have to fixed. I have both 0.11.16 and 0.11.17 after I tried to reimage my workstation with an older image. I use sysprep as my means of automatic deployment.

Ah for those who may encounter the same issue. Since my file was so big, after I clicked to add the snapin, I had to wait about an hour then check my snapin list. I did not receive a notification that my snapin was successfully added.

    • Unable to add a new SnapIn

      Currently running Version 1.5.7.58
      on Ubuntu v 18.04.3

I am picking up from the previous FOG deployer so I am still learning how to get around the application. I’ve successfully deployed images and snapins but now I am trying to add a snapin. I was able to add a simple .zip file snap in and deploy it. However, now I am trying to add a install.exe as a Snapin.
The .exe is roughly 900,000 kb.
      Storage group - primary
      Snapin type - normal
Snapin File is able to be added
Snapin File (exists) is selected as I copied the .exe to the FOG server.
      Snapin Arguments - /S
      Snapin Enabled - Checked
      Snapin Timeout - 0
      Replicate - Checked
      Reboot after install - Checked

When I click the “Add” button, nothing happens. The computer slows down a little bit for a couple of seconds then nothing.

I’ve changed my permissions to -777 in the folder for that .exe
      I’ve increased the upload_max_filesize and post_max_size to 3000M.
