image not showing up in list

    • OS: 14.04 LTS
    Description

    I have an image that I have copied over to the fog server from an external drive, now I did make this image from this same fog server but for some reason I don’t see the image number information listed, how do I rebuild this information so that I can see this image and image it down to a computer?

    @fredlwal What do you mean?

    When you create a definition, it just creates a reference point FOG will use to access the image.

    Typically, people create the definition, assign the definition to a host, and then tell that host to perform a capture task. As the host is in the tasking, the image is being captured on the server. This step is unnecessary if you copied the image from another location.

    The definition can be associated to any host though. It will use this definition during deploy tasks too.

  • so how do I get it to create the image when the image is already created?

  • ok I’ll try that.

    I don’t follow.

    Copying data from one drive to another does not automatically make it “registered” or “defined” in FOG.

    You still need to create the definition in the GUI.
