      Good day.

I hope this hasn’t been asked a million times. So last week I deployed the virtual FOG Appliance (version 0.27). I successfully Uploaded then Deployed a Windows XP image. Worked great. I then loaded a clean version of Windows 7 on the same machines, uploaded and deployed but got a Windows Boot Manager error… inaccessible device. Searching the forums / user guide I discovered I needed to run FOGPrep… which I did but the error was still there. I also read that in later versions of FOG Server, this glitch has been resolved and requires no user action. So this creates two questions…

      1. I have NO IDEA how to update the FOG appliance to 0.32…

      2. I’m wondering why after running FOGPrep I’m still getting the Windows Boot Manager error.

      Thanks for any help!

      Regards,
      Lance

Ok… I’m losing my mind but have made SOME progress.

I was able to update the server to .32. Restarted, everything looks fine.

Im still unable to do two things:

        1. I’m running Fogprep… I’m confirming that it’s removing the HKLM/System/MountedDevice registry entries. I then shut down and upload. When I deploy to another computer it hangs at the Windows Boot Manager - The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I can boot off the windows 7 cd and repair windows… it finds the problems and reboots and all is fine. But what’s causing this? I understood .32 didn’t even require FOGprep?

        2. The newly imaged computer will rename but won’t join domain. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. I’ve used FogCrypt to encrypt password… using domain\username and username (which puts two backslashes between domain \ username. I’ve seen something about logs that help determine what is happening… anyone know where they are?

please help! I’ve been working on this for a week. 😞

Did you do a disk wipe before you did your install of windows 7?

I am a little confused about this part of your post, " I’m running Fogprep… I’m confirming that it’s removing the HKLM/System/MountedDevice registry entries. I then shut down and upload." After preping should you be restarting the OS?

The logs are on the local PC that was imaged(c:\foglog [or something]), they don’t usally help though (for me). Ensure you’re using the correct syntax for the AD integration. Are you doing it per group?
