FOG PXE and Intel-based Apple?
-
Hey everyone, I’m sorry, I’m very new to this, so if I sound like I have no idea what I’m talking about I apologize. What I am looking to do is host an image of DBAN on my FOG Server that I am able to push to both Macs (Macbooks, Macbook Pros, etc.) as well as PCs. Now, I already have this set up and working beautifully with PCs, but I cannot figure out how to successfully PXE boot any Macs with my FOG server. Is this even possible? Any advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

We are currently using gpxe boot cds to get the macs to start a pxe boot. This allows us to image the macs off of the fog server. It is a pain to deal with cds, but it works.

Thank you so much! While it may not be as easy as PXE booting PCs, it will sure be a lot faster than having to insert the factory OS disk, and run a 7-pass hard drive wipe when I can use DBAN to do a 3-pass wipe through the FOG server. Again, thank you! I really appreciate your help!

We are currently looking for a solution to image our Imac 20’s. I can the IMac’s to gpxe but I can’t get them to do anything past the fog screen. I was wondering what kernel you were using and what method you was using to image your MACS off of the fog server?

Once you get the gPXE-1.0.1+ CD/DVD image then you can incorporate that with Clonezilla Live for PXE to image your MAC systems.
