Enabling DHCP in FOG
-
Hi there.
Our fog server is working pretty well. No major issues that some time on Google hasn’t solved. The problem is that when I set it up, I answered “NO” to “do you want to use FOG as a DHCP server”.I now need to enable the dhcp service so that hosts will pull an IP from it, and be able to get images from it.
Any thoughts beyond reinstalling it? I’ve got waaay to many images that I’d just assume not lose by reinstalling. -
I would like to think that you can setup a DHCP server on the server (assuming you are using ubuntu here) without it directly affecting FOG too much. Here’s some basic instructions for installing a DHCP server on it’s own. There may be some modifications you have to change in TFTP, but I can’t guarantee that.

Outside of that, I would point you to this: http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Backing_up_FOG
http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Restoring_FOG_from_BackupThat page will show you at the very least what areas of FOG you can backup and then restore, so that if you do blow out FOG and reinstall, you could easily get your database and images back.
