Installing FOG on laptop for testing purposes. Installed Ubuntu 11.10. Gave machine static IP. Followed instructions for “Integrating FOG into an Existing Network”. Last step when you got to http://servername/fog/managment I get the following message in the web browser “Unable to connect to database” Any Suggestions?

Make sure you have the password entered at the initial setup for the SQL database entered in /var/www/fog/commons/config.php

I had this same problem. During the install if you put in a password when MYSQL was installed, that is where the problem is. It is simple to fix simply edit the config.php file Sk00t3r spoke of and you will see the password field is labled as

Define (“MYSQL_PASSWORD”, “”),

enter in the password you entered during setup ie.

Define (“MYSQL_PASSWORD”, “your password here”),

Once I did this it came right up for me.

If you defined a mysql password add it to /opt/fog/service/etc/config.php and /var/www/fog/commons/config.php

I have the same problem but I did not change the password, the server had been running fine up until this passed Friday.
Any help would be great.
