Optiplex 390
-
Hello everyone I am working on my 3rd deployment of FOG in a school district and this is the hardest one yet.
I have 79 Dell Optiplex 390s that I am working with. I am useing IPxe to boot because the realtek doesn’t like pxe booting. I can register hosts with no problem but when I go to upload my image it will hang after loading pxelinux.cfg. I have the syslinux fix installed as well. Any help would be appreciated

using the 390’s here as well, without problems… not sure if we have the realteks as well, but with fog 0.32 (no kernel changes) and using the chainloading fix we’re not having any problems at all?

I got ours to work after diabling option 43 in our dhcp. Our phone system needs that option so it looks like I cant use fog for my 390s.

You should only need 66 and 67 for FOG on your DHCP server.

Our IP phone system requires option 43 in our dhcp. I am currently looking into ways around this.

You could also use VLANS, as a workaround?
I guess thats also something you should want to do, setting up your phones on a seperate VLAN… -
I have vlans setup but how would I get pxe to pick one one vlan and windows to pick up another.

I would use one vlan for computers, one for wireless networks, one for IP phones…
Just place one dhcp server in each of the vlans? -
