I’m not seeing an issue with Snapins. What revision are you on? What steps can I do to get the same results?
Fixed the memtest issue. It’s due to the fact the ramdisk option is being set. Remember, none of the task associations were setup so something where missed. I just corrected the memdisk issue by, basically, keeping the append options off. I’ll post the revision shortly.
I imagine this same issue is what we’re seeing on surface checks, and possibly, other task types as well. I’ll have to dedicate time to each one to get each one working properly.
-
During testing, it seems like badblocks is being checked. I performed the same tasks that are performed on the system during this particular task and killed the task just to see if I’d get any info.
Don’t forget, this surface test performs the surface test from each block on the system, so I expect that it would take it a while to perform. I didn’t write the program, but it looks like there is a progress indicator. I’ll add that to the fog.surfacetest script. and post in a moment.Hopefully this two items (from a tasking standpoint) will work for you now.

r1109 released. Should add progress information for surfacetest as well as perform checkin on the task. I’ll work on implementing more checkins. The one I can’t is the memtest task as it never loads anything where you have a console.

Thanks I will try it what is the easist way to check the revision I just did an update this morning so I know it is recent. I just was testing pusing out some snapins and it says successfully deployed, but then on the client side it says it has an image task waiting so I have to cancel the task under active task and usually they deploy but now its giving me that error instead.
I am thinking a task is corrupt in the database is there anyway to go in and clear out all task that may be pending?
-
I think you need to delete all tasks with a stateID of 1,2,3
Something like
DELETE FROM tasks WHERE taskStateID IN (‘1’,‘2’,‘3’);Then delete the 01- files relating to those tasks.
-
To check which revision you’re at, I’m assuming you’re using SVN?
From the trunk folder perform:
svn info | grep “Revision” | awk ‘{print $2}’
-

Also I was on 1097 when this occurred.

If you don’t want any of the tasks there, try this:
TRUNCATE TABLE snapinTasks;
TRUNCATE TABLE snapinJobs; -

Also I just wanted to think you for all your help and hard work I really appreciate it.

It seems your /var/www/fog/ OR /var/www/html/fog/ may be corrupted. Has anybody else been “playing” with your fog installation?
I’d also try updating. I’m now at r1110.

No I am the only one who has access to it the odd thing is I have three of fog servers two of which is doing the same thing.
-
also they are all at different sites and and they only talk to each other when I need to copy an image from one to another.
-
Do your hosts have the snapins associated before trying to deploy it?

Quick update all task, but the snapin task all or single will start or even show under active task or snapin task.

That was it must have associated them when I did that database command. I will try to test the deploy now and see if it works.

Hey Tom I may have found another bug when ever I go to edit a snapin it is giving me this error “Failed to add snapin, no file was uploaded.” but the file was already uploaded it should just let me make changes.
Also with the hostname changer I found out that it only works when making the computer join a domain. Is that how it was ment to function because I was under the impression it should work with or without joining a domain.
-
I’ll look into that.
I agree it should work all the time, but haven’t figured out where it needs to be changed. The file for this is called service/hostname.php and I’ve added the code base so it should work. If you’re still on 1093, I might have made the change after that so I don’t know. Initially it was throwing an exception rather than just reporting back. If this is still an issue let me know and I’ll try to dedicate to getting that fixed.

I found an issue with mps deploy in that it wouldn’t cycle thru the partitions. I’ve modified the code base so that, from my perspective, it seems to cycle through the partitions again, though I don’t know how well it actually works.
I’ve also added some checks/balances if using windows 8. I’m told the EFI Partition is fat32, so I added a base element to partclone.fat on the second partition if the os is windows 8. There’s a third partition that is blank, but seems to be needed, so I also added a base of code that adds partclone.dd on the third partition if the os is windows 8. Hopefully this will work, but I have no way of knowing as I don’t have windows 8.
