Normal Server > Storage Node?

  • All –

I had a Fog server with 100GB storage running virtually through Hyper-V however the performance was not that great. So I built a new server on a physical server and it is working much better. Problem is that physical server ony has 40GB HD space. I would like to turn the original server into a storage node only and be able to keep the images that were already stored there. I cannot find instructions (if it is even possible) to convert from a normal server to a storage node. Is this possible? And if so, how can it be done? I re-ran the setup on the original server but it will not let me change any options.

    Thanks for the help.

  • I didn’t realize FOG provided an uninstall guide :O, thanks!

  • I’d think deleting the old server (Except for the images folder of course) would allow you to run the install and set it up as a storage node.

Just do not do “sudo rm -rf /images”

  • I’m having the exact same issue. Did you ever resolve this?
