"hdparm: ioctl 0x304 failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device" with SCSM 7500 USB Nic
We are trying to image a Dell XPS12 connected with a SCSM 7500 USB NIC with both FOG 0.32 & 0.33b
We are getting the error message - “hdparm: ioctl 0x304 failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device”.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Sorry not sure how to do that.
I was wondering if it is possible to just insert the drivers straight into the Fog pxe kernel, like it is possible using Windows Deployment Toolkit to insert drivers into the Win PE image?
I am only guessing that the "ioctl"error means no network drivers.
Have you tried a Kitchen Sink kernel? If you compile your own kernel you should be able to add your own drivers as well.
I tested with a Fog Bootable USB and same issue.
Is it possible to inject the correct drivers into the fog kernel?
I was never able to have this work on these machines either. However, I no longer have one in my possession, so I can’t test it anymore.
