Deploying didn’t go through. Partclone couldn’t find directory. Does not exist.

@jackiejack I’m not sure I understand. Did you actually delete the file information?

@tom-elliott No well I went into FOG dashboard and deleted the image in the “usual” way.

@jackiejack But the image doesn’t exist in /images correct?

@tom-elliott Tom, it does exist. I mean 59 GB for my MasterImage

Only 2 images I captured. Basic and Master

@jackiejack So the definition you created, the path is pointing at:

                MasterImage?

@jackiejack And the host you’re trying to deploy has the newly created definition assigned?

@jackiejack Do you have multiple storage nodes? If so, do the other nodes have the image available as well?

Can you give an image of the deploy process including the error?

@JackieJack Just before that screen there usually is a blue partclone screen. Does that show an error? We need to know the error message partclone is giving you. Take a picture of that or even try taking a steady video. Put your smartphone on a pile of books in front of the screen to get a good non-blury video.

@jackiejack What’s the difference with no. 4? Is that a newly created one?

Assuming yes: my guess is that your original image was compressed much in the way that your BasicImage is, setting the Image Manager to the right value will hopefully restore functionality for that image definition.

@quazz Yess image number 4 is a newly created on pointing to the /images/MasterImage folder. What happened was that I thought the image FOLDER name was MasterImage1803. But when I checked I see only MasterImage.

HOLY CRAP I CHANGED THE COMPRESSION THING AND THE IMAGING SEEMS TO BE GOING THROUGH!

Will let you know once target boots up.
(I did deploy that image on a machine once so I know it took)

@jackiejack Imaging went through perfect. THANK YOU QUAZZ.

                                            To recover deleted image:

                                            1. ls /images to find image name (du -h to find size of folders). Take note of the image folder name.
                                            2. Recreate image definition. Make sure it is pointing to the right folder name (must be same path as the original one)
                                            3. IF DEPLOYMENT PROBLEMS: Set compression of this image def to right value. Check your previous image before the deleted one. In my case my I put my new image definition to this previous value.*
                                            4. Make sense to reassign this image to the original computers associated with this image (in my case it was only the master computer I was working on).
                                            5. Think twice before deleting images!

*(Apparently when new image definition is created FOG may assign a different compression???)

Thanks to FOG devs for considering idiots like me!
