Using fog on a VMWare virtual network to test images and deployment

I’m wondering if anyone has tried something like this before. I want to have a virtual network that mirrors the set up of my set of machines so that I can play around with my images on my work station. Once I’m satisfied I would copy the image from VMware to my server and deploy like normal.

Deploying an image for testing takes an age on my network so I’m thinking this would be a good idea to speed up the experimentation process before deployment.

Unless there’s something else that would work better ?
