DHCP service won't start

[FONT=Tahoma][COLOR=#141414]After installing the Capone plugin the DHCP server stops working (after reboot of the FOG server). I have to manually start the service each time which is a little bit annoying…[/COLOR][/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma][COLOR=#141414]I have 11 identical Ubuntu 11.04, FOG 0.32 servers in an school environment (students and teachers can in an easy way reinstall when problems occurs)[/COLOR][/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma][COLOR=#141414]I have made changes to the boot menu, the Capone option is now the first option.[/COLOR][/FONT]

Catsrules’ topic [URL=‘http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/dhcp3-stoped-starting-automaticly.379/’]here [/URL]offers some insight on this I think. His solution was to delay the start time of the dhcp service to wait for the NIC.

What I found on my own isolated servers is that if the server boots without the NIC connected to some active device (another powered on computer, switch, etc.) it can’t start the DHCP service. I don’t know if that’s the case for you, but it’s a couple things to check.

The solution works perfect on Ubuntu 10.04 but 11.04 has another/changed DHCP service, I have not found where to make the changes in the new version.

I’m on 11.10 and the service name for my installation is “isc-dhcp-server”

I think the path is /etc/init.d/isc-dhcp-server

I hope that’s the same one for you.
