Hello,

i come back to find out if there is a way to deploy my old images.

I have a many (around 20 myself and i think around 150 for all my coworkers) Windows 7 single partition (without the 100mb partition).
Some one us have only a few so remake image isn’t a problem for them but many others have more that 30 to 40.

I have activated GUI for partimage support and proceed as always to import image to fog.
Yet, when i try to upload it, i have some messages and deploy doesn’t work.

Here is the screenshot :

Thank you for your help.

Those messages, to me, look to mean that the image you’re trying to push is NOT in partimage format. I could be wrong, but that’s what I’ve found from the partimage command when the image is set as partimage when it should be partclone.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

I have checked twice the image itself and the configuration on the web page (even update it twice and recreate it).

Is there a command line that i could use to have more details ?
And when i have this blue screen is very hard to read and i don’t even see what i write, is it from FOG or from the pxe module ?

Got it, but it’s obviously not working in your case.

You state above that you’re trying to upload the image? What do you mean by upload, repush to the server? Or put it on the client system?

In my terms, upload mean’s regenerating the image and storing that on the server. If this is the case, partclone is what is used. This means that if that image has been uploaded to the server, this is why you’re seeing the problem. The image is actually, now, in partclone and you need to update the flag so it shows as partclone, not as partimage.

Sorry, i was meaning download (or deploy).

Since “deploy” has been change to “download”, i keep messing with the words.
It would have been better to have “deploy” and “backup” ! 😛

Not that I have to explain myself, but people are often saying the same thing, and some are saying in much more conflicting manner.

To help understand.

Tasks are Deployed. This Task can be of any type, as you deploy the computer to “do” something. While it’s easy to imaging that deploy means to go “downstream”, in military speak (from America at least) to be deployed means to be tasked to do something. What that something is, really doesn’t matter. You’re to go and get something done. That’s why Deploy is used as the convention of what we do with any tasking.

Download a task, is to take from the server and place on the system.

Upload a task, is to place on the server.

These terms are respective of the Client system. The client is Downloading the Image from the server and placing it on itself (much how we download files from the internet and store them on our computers.)

The client is Uploading and image when it’s taking it’s filesystem and placing it on the server (much how we upload a text file from our systems and put them on the forums.)

Hopefully this helps clarify that.

In either case, have you tried using the “Partclone” system to download that image to your client?

Thank you for the explanation.
Since we work on the server and not on the client, it could also means that the server download the image from the client or the server upload it to the client and much when we read “image push” on the pxe interface, saying that’s the server that is working.

It doesn’t work better with partclone.
