FOG 0.32 Custom Kernel
-
I recently setup and configured a Master FOG server and Storage Node for my current job. I had an issue where one Motherboard booted with 3.3.3, and another required 2.6.35.7. Since I didn’t want people to have to keep flipping Kernels just to register/image I went about creating a custom Kernel.
I used this link to get things setup, and to see if I had done something wrong: http://www.cs.csubak.edu/~steve/cs216/Kernel-Build-HOWTO.html#EXTRACT-PATCH
You MUST compile the kernel as bzImage first, then you can rename it (i tried saving it as a new name, and it doesn’t compile).
This kernel so far has worked with every motherboard we have at work (All Asus ranging from 1st gen i7’s to 4th gen i7’s) Hopefully this will work if you are having issues, I’m also attaching the .config file I used for the kernel - (Basically selected everything that related to realtek, broadcom, intel).
