Storage space how to?

Hi as you wil see I’m new to this (specialy Linux indept).
I set opp everything working, created to disk’s a small one for the instalation and a “biggy” for images. I mounted the big disk under/in the home folder i see it when I look at the file system in Ubuntu.
I try to figure how to set it up as storage space but I don’t see how.
Anybody out there that has a pointer or HowTo for me plz.
