When I perform a full inventory via the PXE menu of a host computer, I add a custom Host Name, but when the registration is done, the host name listed in the FOG interface is the MAC address, just like it would be if I used quick registration. I can’t find the host name that I entered anywhere in the description either. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

What is the hostname you’re using? Is it 15 characters or longer? Does it contain special characters?

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

I don’t think hostname’s are allowed to have spaces.

That was indeed the problem. As soon as I got rid of the space, it registered properly. I don’t know what I was thinking, as all of our current host names don’t have spaces, but have dashes instead. Thanks for your help!
