Lenovo x131e unable to move /images

Cannot upload image from Lenovo x131e laptop. Tried Kernel - 3.8.8 Core. Tried Kernel - 2.6.35.7 KS. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Lenovo ThinkPad X131e 3368 - Core i3 3227U / 1.9 GHz
4 GB RAM - 320 GB HDD - 11.6"
wide 1366 x 768 / HD - Intel HD Graphics 4000

Yes I did try. Thank you for your suggestion. Still no luck. I think the problem has been narrowed down to the x131 having an advanced format drive. Any options that you know of to get around this?
