I operate the IT at a small organization who uses FOG for a lab of 12 computers. The guy who set up FOG left a long time ago and he left written instructions on how to operate FOG, but they aren’t working and something else must be the problem.

I tried going through the Guide and the Forums and the Troubleshooting to see if I could find anything that would answer my problem, but so far, I haven’t found anything. I apologize if the answer is somewhere I haven’t looked, but I’ve gotten to the point where I need to ask for help.

The main thing is that the client can connect to the server in network boot, but doesn’t seem to pull the GUI or the image and then just keeps rebooting.

I tell FOG management to deploy to a certain computer and then I network boot from that computer.

It finds the PXE image and has some data shown on the screen, such as
PXELINUX 3.8.1 ~~blah
PXE entry point found (we hope) at 98D6:00F6 via plan A
NDI code segment at 98D6 len 6ACB
NDI data segment at 96F6 len 1E00
blah blah
My IP address seems to be blah blah
TFTP Prefix:
Trying to load pxelinux.cfg/blah
Trying to load pxelinux.cfg/[mac address]
And then from there it waits a few seconds, and then the system reboots, sending it into the network boot again.

This happens with all deployment options, including debug and wipe disk. They won’t connect on any of the computers.

If I try to network boot without the deploy task going, it will load into a FOG text-only screen which gives me no options and a command line. The command “fog” does nothing but time out and I don’t know what other commands I can give.

It seems like the issue is at getting the image from the server. It appears as if the client computer can connect to the image server but can’t pull it from there. What could be blocking this connection?

If so try disableing the other DHCP servers and deploy again ?

So when this is loading you’re seeing text? or is it while it’s giving the … streams.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)
