      Hello,

I installed FOG at Office a few weeks ago to respond to a mass PC deployement quickly.
Today, we will use FOG “officially” at the office, so we want to deploy the fog client on users pc’s by gpo or a kixtart on logon. (For that here it’s not a problem)

So i installed fog client on some local PC’s in my domain to see the “auto-register” feature working, but the PC’s are not contacting Fog server to register that ones.

So, my FOG server is installed on a virtual-box vm with the hostname “fogserver”.

So i found a trouble at the host registration step. I tryed lot of different settings in fog, but it’s always the same,

Hre you can see the fog.log of a client PC.

I hope you can help us using the client to register all our users, because we have to deploy VLC before the end of month :s.

Otherwise, congrats for the deployement tool!

      Best Regards,
      Fred

Hi Fred, the host auto-register feature was discontinued in version .29(I think) You will want to manually register them or import the hostnames/MAC addresses from a file.

Hmmm strange, normally the good features continue and being developped.

Well i will try to do the job extracting some .csv’s for our multiple dhcp servers 😕

Thanks anyway. Also new replys are welcome to recommend a tool or something.

          Thanks,
          Fred

I am not sure why it was discontinued but the developers are shooting to bring it back in the next release. You can run a report in SCCM to get hostnames and MACS or the free SoftPerfect Network Scanner can also generate .csv’s for you if your shop does not use SCCM.
