@Tom-Elliott by the way, any snap-in that would detect what OU the computer is in and be able to put it back into that same OU after import? it’s a lot to ask but why not lol

RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
@Tom-Elliott hey Tom, thanks for that! it worked but after the import the PC (test PC) won’t change it’s hostname automatically. I mean FOG shows the new given name: van-wsz440-147 but the computer Windows 8.1 still has the old name vanprodz440-147 and it’s not rebooting automatically.
FOG log file shows:

RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
@Tom-Elliott ah ok, so i export, make the changes to the 10x (example) hosts, remove all the other ones and re-import that file with 10x hosts? k let me try
-
RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
@Tom-Elliott hey Tom, remove them? sorry I wasn’t aware of this, I need to go in there and delete all the hosts and then import it again? All I did was export, modify and import the hosts and I keep getting this Row#0 error
-
RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
so used a different version of Excel and now I get this error:
Not sure what tit means by Row #0: 'cause the Excel file starts at Row 1
-
RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
Update:
I tried exporting and importing and upon importing i get Total Rows, Hosts with a 0
Am I doing something wrong? file is the same

RE: Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
@Wayne-Workman thank you! I think the easiest is the host export and import! i will test with that and see how it goes. Thank you everyone!

Hostname Change on 700+ Workstations
Server
- FOG Version: 1.3.4
- OS: CentOS 6.7
Client
- Service Version:
- OS:
Description
Hello,
We have a bit of a big project and that is that we are re-naming all workstations (previously imaged with FOG of course) to fit a better naming convention. Rather than doing this one by one as of course FOG can do with the FOG Hostname Changer, anything that FOG can do so that we can schedule this hostname change on 700+ workstations? Basically at the moment all PCs are named:
vanprodz440-001, 002, 003 etc…
We’d like to change that to van-wsz440a-001
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks FOG! -
RE: Report Management FOG Imaging Log "No Results Found"

Report Management FOG Imaging Log "No Results Found"
Server
- FOG Version: 1.3.4
- OS: CentOS 6.7
Client
- Service Version:
- OS:
Description
Upgraded to FOG 1.3.4 SVN Revision 6064 about 2 weeks ago and can’t confirm whether “FOG Imaging Log” worked prior to that ('cause I never needed it before) but for some reason my FOG Imaging Log has no data.
I am able to do the following via mySQL though:
$ mysql -D fog
mysql> describe imagingLog;
±-------------±-------------±-----±----±--------±---------------+
| Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra |
±-------------±-------------±-----±----±--------±---------------+
| ilID | int(11) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment |
| ilHostID | int(11) | NO | MUL | NULL | |
| ilStartTime | datetime | NO | | NULL | |
| ilFinishTime | datetime | NO | | NULL | |
| ilImageName | varchar(64) | NO | | NULL | |
| ilType | varchar(64) | NO | | NULL | |
| ilCreatedBy | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | |
±-------------±-------------±-----±----±--------±---------------+
7 rows in set (0.00 sec)mysql> select * from imagingLog;
and that gives me like 2000 records, which is what i want! problem is I don’t want to just out put it to a file, I want to be able to query it via FOG web console. Why does FOG say it’s empty when there is clearly data in there?
Thanks!

RE: Machines won't join AD
thanks guys! I got it working, i ended up using the Domain Password Legacy and checking the “Join Domain after Image Task” worked. I don’t know something wonky happened.
Thanks
-
RE: Machines won't join AD
i already tried that but let me try again and see if it even reboots, also it does say “after image” and this was not after the image but rather a computer name change and re-join. let me try that again, thanks for your help btw

Machines won't join AD
Hello FOG Users,
I am running FOG 1.3.0-RC-8 (i don’t want to update to RC-10 because of the issues I’ve seen so far)
I noticed that since FOG 1.3 there is now 2 Domain Password columns and I think that’s where the issue is. I tried using the normal password which auto-encrypts by itself and also the Domain Password Legacy which I had working in 1.2 but nothing seems to work. The logs just read:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------HostnameChanger------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2016-09-15 12:26 PM Client-Info Client Version: 0.11.5 2016-09-15 12:26 PM Client-Info Client OS: Windows 2016-09-15 12:26 PM Client-Info Server Version: 1.3.0-RC-8 2016-09-15 12:26 PM Middleware::Response Success 2016-09-15 12:26 PM HostnameChanger Checking Hostname 2016-09-15 12:26 PM HostnameChanger Hostname is correct
but it won’t join the Domain or does it even give any error to why it’s not joining. I checked the AD Defaults and tried adding the default password for the “vancouveradmin” account which had been used successfully in 1.2 without any issues.
Is there something I am missing? Oh the computer is running the updated FOG Agent and can ping FOG server just fine.
Thanks

RE: Images Directory Permissions
@Wayne-Workman Thanks Wayne! I appreciate the help and patience! You’re the man!

RE: Images Directory Permissions
@Wayne-Workman the permissions are correct, I just keep seeing this error:
-
RE: Images Directory Permissions
So I re-ran the installer and I do notice one thing this installer does. It changes the fog linux account to a different password which is in .fogsettings
I had to change the local password using passwd fog and then change the .fogsettings to match that. However I still cannot ftp into my “images” folder from Windows Explorer. If I just type: ftp://fog.server.com it prompts me for a username and password and it works, when I change it to my “images” folder it saids I have no access. Something is definitely going on.

RE: Images Directory Permissions
@Wayne-Workman this is what my .fogsettings file looks like:

I do have a user in the Linux Server called “fog” and I do have a folder under home. Also vsftpd is running just fine, I even restarted the service but the weird part is I can’t even FTP into that folder from Windows Explorer, it asks me for username and password but keeps telling I have no access.drwxrwxrwx 36 fog root 4096 Aug 10 15:40 images
