@Bullet I don’t have access to my test setup over the next days. I will get back to you on this in about two weeks.

@blainey Replication needs FTP (random ports for the data channel) and HTTP.

RE: Multi-Task Problem
@Joe-Gill Ahhhhhhh, I just figured what’s wrong with your DB. Seems like you have used Tom’s working-1.6 branch at some point in time.
Take a look here: https://github.com/FOGProject/fogproject/blob/working-1.6/packages/web/commons/schema.php#L3746
Guess you need to manually reverse the last few schema changes you see in the above link. Not sure how far back you need to go. Probably as far as 264.
@Tom-Elliott We really need to get the schema change numbers sorted when I get back from my travels.

RE: Replication Inquiry
@blainey The master node checks and pushes the data to the storage nodes.
-
RE: Multi-Task Problem
@Joe-Gill You can manually add the coloumns to match the schema Fernando posted.
-
RE: Multi-Task Problem
@Joe-Gill Sounds like your DB has more issues that what we have fixed last time. But this one sounds really strange! Please run
DESC multicastSessions
in the mysql command line and post output here. -
RE: TFTP error on server
@idiart33 Why do you use such an old version? Currently we have 1.5.6! I can’t even remember when 1.3.4 was still fresh.
What I see in the picture “Processing Partition: /dev/sda ()” makes me think that FOG is not able to properly deploy and re-read the partition table before it tries to deploy the data to the partitions.
Probably best if you cancel the task in the webUI, schedule a new one with debug enabled and step through the whole process manually. Take pictures of the whole process and post here. We might be able to find what’s wrong.
But this is just a quick idea. We really don’t know enough to be sure we can help you. The setup is way to old and we shouldn’t really spend time on digging up problems with such old versions. Possibly it’s just an error that was fixed long time ago.

RE: TFTP error on server
@idiart33 What version of FOG do you have?! Just asking because the error message clearly shows that the init file you use is years old (in December 2017 we changed the inits a bit and the error message you posted in the picture is from before that!)

RE: brand new dell latitude 3500
@p4cm4n Most probably some kind of Intel software RAID foo. See if you can change from RAID to AHCI somewhere in the UEFI firmware settings.

RE: Multi-Task Problem
@Joe-Gill Unfortunately don’t have enough time to do another debug session with you. But maybe I can give you enough hints so you can dig it up yourself.
Remember that I enabled mysql query logging yesterday?! First you login to the web UI, clear all the old tasks there and select the group you want to schedule a multicast task for. Prepare this as far as possible but don’t hit the button to create it yet but enable database query logging (and clear the log we created yesterday):
shell> echo -n "" >/var/log/mariadb/query.log shell> mysql -u root -p Password: ... mysql> SET GLOBAL general_log_file='/var/log/mariadb/query.log'; ... mysql> SET GLOBAL general_log=1;
Now click create multicast task and then stop query logging again:
mysql> SET GLOBAL general_log=0;
Now take a look at the query.log file. What you are looking for is probably something like
INSERT INTO multicastSessions ...
. Just use search function of the text editor to find that part. Now when you find this you just copy the whole SQL command and try to execute that in the mysql shell manually. Most probably you’ll get an error from that and we might find out why. -

@imagingmaster21 said:
I am having the same issue with the FOG partition resizing as in my previous post.
We need the exact error you are seeing this time to be able to help. From what you describe I think you are having a different issue than what you had last time on your other server.

RE: TFTP error on server
@idiart33 As well please post the contents of your
/etc/default/tftpd-hpa
. I have a feeling that there is a miss-configuration in that. -
RE: TFTP error on server
@idiart33 What do you get when running the command
journalctl -xe
?? -
RE: FOG Partition Issues 1.5.0
@imagingmaster21 Nice, here we have a perfect example. You see that both files are similar but there is one important difference. The
size=
of partition number 4 is smaller in the p1.minimum.partitions file. What this means is that FOG is able to deploy this partition layout to a smaller disk. FOG would Not be able to do that if those two files where identical.So I am still wondering hob you came to the idea those two files need to be identical?!?
-
RE: Multi-Task Problem
@Joe-Gill First make sure the multicast service is actually running:
systemctl status FOGMulticastManager
You are on the right track here. Try this:
SELECT * FROM multicastSessionsAssoc;
-
RE: FOG Partition Problem
@phil-dosi The files aren’t supposed to be identical! Please post the contents of those files of one of your images here so I can explain in detail what I mean.

RE: local fog 1.5.4.586 Alpha : Snapin Create Fail : A filen eithier already selected or uploaded, must be specified!
@Jonathan-Cool You are aware of using a sort of alpha version known as “working-1.6”. You might want to run the following commands to update to the very latest version of this alpha stage.
cd /opt/fogproject git pull git checkout working-1.6 cd bin/ ./installfog.sh
@Tom-Elliott is working on this one. Can you confirm the issue?

RE: FOG Partition Issues 1.5.0
@imagingmaster21 said in FOG Partition Issues 1.5.0:
We have a second FOG Server running 1.5.0, this has the same images on it and the same issue as mentioned in this post:
Are you absolutely sure it’s the exact same images? I mean, do you replicate the image files from one server to the other? Just want to make sure as partition layouts can be quite different although they might look similar at first.
Please post the contents of the following three files from the image on your 1.5.0 server:
d1.partitions
,d1.minimum.partitions
andd1.fixed_size_partitions
Updating to the latest version is still a good idea!
