Ohhhh, didn’t read properly. If this is a complete new server (and DB) then you need to create the image definition or import those from a DB dump… sorry for that!

@george1421 @zyzhang This issue might be fixed in a later init version when we added the

calls. -
RE: Is there a way to make FOG compatible with LUKS encryption?
@george1421 Ok, I added things with the latest commit to the official kernels. Let me know if you think there is anything else needed.

RE: During Deployment Second Partition shrinking in size
@phil_guy Are you kidding? How did you manage to upload the pictures - which are binary as well? Just copy that d1.mbr file (as is) from your FOG server to a USB key, get it to your PC and upload to the forum. It’s really not that hard, is it?

@george1421 @zyzhang I put in the download links for init and kernel in my last post.

RE: Installation stuck on centOS
@anisgh What the installer does at this stage (“Preparing Package Manager”) is as simple as running
yum update
(on CentOS) to make sure the package lists are all up to date. In cae you have pending updates those would get installed then. If there are many updates pending this can take a fair amount of time.Allow me a question. The hostname seen in the picture suggest you install FOG on a server connected to the internet. There are several reasons we don’t suggest to do this. Or at least you should take caution to secure your FOG server by adjusting things instead of just using default configs.

RE: During Deployment Second Partition shrinking in size
@phil_guy No problem! Thanks for the file. I had a first quick look but I need more time for this. Please be a little patient. Feel free to remind me of this when you don’t hear anything by the end of the week.

@smoooo Did you see the link I posted about converting a core storage setup to a normal one?

RE: PHP Fatal Error call to undefined function
@Edwards07256 @george1421 If I remember correctly dev-branch should be pretty much ready to run on Ubuntu 22.04 with PHP 8.

RE: Bandwidth -Transmit
Ok, sorry then. Moving to FOG problems.
@pizzutoitalia Please check your Storage Management settings on the WEB GUI…

RE: OSx won't load after Macbook Pro is imaged. Get 'Cross-out' symbol on boot
@smoooo I expect you install is based on Apples Core storage - similar to LVM in Linux. See information about this here:

RE: Help Unable to Load Management Page During Initial Install
@SmaxBang Please run the following command to see which version of PHP is installed on your server:
rpm -qa | grep php
Post output here. If it’s PHP 8.x you need to use the latest dev-branch version of FOG instead of 1.5.9 (found on github).

Well then, change it to

RE: 2019 Macbook Air PXE woes
@Smoblikat Congrats! You seem to be one of very few users who managed to still image Macs even though Apple has put up a fair amount of hurdles over the years. Well done!
Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be able to help you much with the issue you face right now. It’s very specific to iPXE and while we have done some debugging on this it’s rare that we can really dig up such issues deep down in the iPXE code.
But let me still try to throw some ideas at you and see if that is of any help.
Do you build custom iPXE binaries or do you copy those to your drive which we provide with FOG? If you know how to compile your own binaries you can add debug output and try to trace down why it would not pick up an IP.
Have you used wireshark/tcpdump yet to see of it actually sends a DHCP request or not?

RE: Fix problem with php-gettext
@Ibizenco This has been discussed in the forums and in issue reports at least a dozen of times. Please use the latest dev-branch version instead of 1.5.9 for now.

RE: PXE boot issue on E6410
@kfoster Did those machines properly PXE boot with the old server? What version was the old server, I guess pre 1.2.0, maybe 0.32?
Try using
undionly.kkpxe
(note the double ‘k’) to see if it boots the E6410. Although our hardware list states it as working with the normal PXE binary.the latest undionly.kpxe file
What exactly do you mean by that?

RE: Using FOG client to image MacOS
@quicklet FOG works with PXE booting. Hosts that are scheduled for a task need to PXE boot to run the task. Be aware that Apple changed a couple of things over the last two years that makes imaging of any sort (not just with FOG I mean) almost impossible.

RE: Stuck on "running post init scripts
@Numa09 Unfortunately there aren’t any logs for the NFS mount part of FOG. But it’s surely a network filtering issue I guess as other network traffic is going through no problem. The whole PXE bootup uses several different protocols and they all seem to work fine up to that point where NFS comes into play. So you might want to search the web for NFS and your switch model.
Other than that you could search this forum for an extensive post by @george1421 about using NFSv4 on a single port which is more network friendly. Be aware this is bleeding edge testing and not officially supported.

RE: Installing FOG on Debian
@maveriick Seems like your
/etc/apt/sources.list
is corrupt. Please post what you get fromcat /etc/apt/sources.list
.As well you need to run
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install svn
(see the secondsudo
command?) after we fixed your sources.list -
RE: What do I rename the T2 bzimage file to for reliable mac OS capture and restores?
@george1421 said in What do I rename the T2 bzimage file to for reliable mac OS capture and restores?:
FWIW, I read (somewhere) the Mac T2 compatibility was going mainstream in the 6.x series of linux kernels, so this one-off patched version shouldn’t be necessary once we have the linux kernel 6.x version in FOS Linux.
Nice!!! We were going to bring out a first 6.x kernel soon anyway. Will post here when it’s done.
