@kralon Well then please post the fog-client log here. Not just the HostnameChanger part - at least 2 or 3 full checkin cycles of output from the log. Or even upload the full log!

RE: HostnameChanger question
The machine is already joined to the domain, code = 2691
This is known in Samba NT 4 domains. See details here: https://github.com/FOGProject/fog-client/issues/110
The net session command says There are no entries in the list.
I really wonder if I am on the wrong track here or if it has some kind of hidden IPC connection open that is causing this. But why are you able to manually join the domain then? Maybe I was wrong and it actually is an issue that has to do with the methods we use to join and your Samba NT 4 domain. But why does it work for others - see issue on github in the link above. Those users are able to join.
RE: Windows 10 Deployment stuck
@Mr-Pinguin777 This is not really a FOG issue. FOG doesn’t care about drivers at all. It simply captures an image from one system and deploys it to another systems drive. You need to take care that all the drivers are included before capturing the image.
I am not a Windows guy and can’t help you much on this issue. See if there are other people in the forums who might be able to help you with this.
Though you have not even told us about this particular laptop you see the issue on. In the picture it looks like a HP device. Which one exactly? Spinning hard drive? SSD? UEFI or legacy boot?
RE: FOGPingHosts Different Subnets (Location Plugin)
@markbam Not expected but I can’t tell you for sure which version of FOG had this properly working. Storage node and location plugin setup is something we as developers don’t get to test very often and so we rely on people like you who report things. Thanks!
Please check the database connection information you find in
/var/www/html/fog/lib/fog/config.class.phpon you storage node. Are you able to connect using those credentials on the command line?
mysql -h x.x.x.x -u root -p?
RE: Request to change the default network interface (Mint & Ubuntu)
@cromag Thanks for bringing this topic up again. Indeed there was an issue in the scripts. I just pushed a fix to
dev-branch. Should be fine in the next release.
Though I still have no idea where the
macvtap0@thing came from reported in the first place.
RE: Another Domain Join Issue
@Jay-Bosworth There is an easy way around this. Don’t start the host immediately after you deployed the image to it. Copy the downloaded Modules.dll to a USB drive. Then schedule another debug deploy task for this same host, PXE boot it and when you get to the shell run the following commands (assuming your hard disk drive is
/dev/sdaand your USB drive is
mkdir -p /mnt/usb mkdir -p /mnt/win mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb mount /dev/sdaX /mnt/win cd /mnt/win/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/FOG/ mv Modules.dll Modules_orig.dll cp /mnt/usb/Modules.dll . cd umount /mnt/win umount /mnt/usb
Something along these lines. This is untested and I can’t promise you it’s working exactly like this as I don’t know your partition layout or drive specs.
RE: Another Domain Join Issue
@Jay-Bosworth Before you deploy your next machine may I ask you to use this debug enabled Modules.dll so we get more helpful output in the log file: https://github.com/FOGProject/fog-client/releases/download/0.11.16/Modules_debug_HostnameChanger.dll
FOGService(Windows services.msc), then go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\FOG\and rename
Modules.dll. Now download the one from above and put in place of the original one. Now capture your master image from that machine and deploy to another host. Please grab
fog.logafter deployment and post the full contents here.
RE: Activate Windows 10 via FOG agent
yeah, the First screen is host settings and the second screen is global settings of Fog.
No the first picture shows the general service settings! Go to Hosts -> edit specific host -> Tab “Service Settings” and make sure it has HostnameChanger enabled as well.
