RE: Clone a hard disk to a smaller drive?
When you shrink the partitions on the 320GB disk, make sure the free space is at the end of the disk and not in the middle. I prefer using the gparted live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php) rather than windows Disk Management to accomplish this
You can use the command <ExtendOSPartition> in your unattended.xml file to expand the volume to use the full disk during sysprep.

RE: Computers are not renaming themselves and joining the domain after imaging.
In the web console go to the host section and search for 00:01:6C:55:98:43
What is specified for the hostname? -
RE: Computers are not renaming themselves and joining the domain after imaging.
I think I know what your issue is. You have quick registered the computers and not used the full registration in fog menu. This uses the mac address as a hostname and that’s not a valid computer name in windows, or you are using Capone and the computers are not in the database.
See:-
7/18/2013 9:00 AM FOG::HostnameChanger Host name was not found in the database.
7/18/2013 9:05 AM FOG::TaskReboot No job exists for 00:01:6C:55:98:43Search for 00:01:6C:55:98:43 and change it for a valid hostname.

RE: Computers are not renaming themselves and joining the domain after imaging.
Restart the fog service and then look at c:\fog.log again There should be an entry for Hostname changer like below:-
18/07/2013 09:03 FOG::HostnameChanger Attempting to connect to fog server…
18/07/2013 09:03 FOG::HostnameChanger Module is active…
18/07/2013 09:03 FOG::HostnameChanger Hostname is up to dateIf you running 0.32 you could also try changing the fog setting FOG_CHANGE_HOSTNAME_EARLY to 0

RE: Call to undefined method Group::addMember
Its not &$tmp. It does not exist anywhere in FOGCore.class.php

RE: Computers are not renaming themselves and joining the domain after imaging.
As above login to computer using local admin account and check c:\fog.log. The auto login script is not the reason why its failing. Your answer will be in there.

RE: Windows failed to start...
Have you used sysprep, and what version of fog are you using?
-
RE: Computers are not renaming themselves and joining the domain after imaging.
On the client computers, check the contents of c:\fog.log. Is the Client checking into the server. Are there any error messages?

RE: Call to undefined method Group::addMember
We have this error after upgrading from 0.29 to 0.32. Anyone know the fix?

RE: Fog Client requests pRelinux.0 instead of pXelinux.0
If your using windows DHCP, check the details that has been entered for option 67 for that DHCP scope.

RE: WOL only works immediately never as planned or cron task
X32
Scheduled and cron WOL jobs works on our network. We are still using FOG 0.29If your planning on moving to Windows 8 see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2776718
WOL from (S4) Hybrid shutdown or (S5) classic shutdown is unsupported in Windows 8 -
RE: PXE Problems, out of my depth!
Check tftp is running from a client windows computer by doing following:
- Enable tftp client in windows control panel Windows Features
- Open a command prompt and type tftp ServerIP get pxelinux.0
You should get Transfer successful
If not then something wrong with tftp on server.

RE: Fog 33?
Steve, I can relate to your issue too. We are on 0.29 and have held back for almost a year waiting for 0.33 but have decided to upgrade to 0.32 by the end of this month. Windows 8 has been around for several months and full support is needed. Its a shame not many programmers from the community are contributing and helping these guys out.
Oh the answer to the timeline for the release question is surely, it will be ready when its ready!

RE: Changing FOG to store on SCSI mount.
Edit Storage Node Definition in fog web console

RE: Image file in server was overwritten by new image.
If the old image has been overwritten with a new image then someone must have forgot to associate the computer with a new image file / definition. Some of our engineers make this mistake too.
You have only 3 options:
- Try a Linux file recovery tool on the FOG server.
- Upload again from any of the 200+ workstations that has the image. If you can find one that’s not been used great.
- Recreate the image from scratch.
Start backing up your storage node at least 1 a month.

RE: Silent install of the FOG Service Client (given hostname or ip)
I meant the program that modifies installer files http://www.qwerty-msi.com/
Modify config.ini and repackage with qwerty msi
