Hi Sebastian, Here is info you have requested. our FOG server IP is 10.10.30.80. FOG server is in our main branch.
Hello, My situation is same as this post but we do have site to site tunnel in place and option 66 & 67 setup at site. we tried to pxe boot one lenovo desktop to see if it will connect to FOG server which is in our main branch. the computer does get DHCP IP settings but than it gets stuck at TFTP time out. not sure why it isn’t connecting to FOG.

please guide us.
what do you suggest i should do ? we have large numbers of computers to be re-image with win10. we have 20 plus small offices across U.S. how can i go about doing this ?
Hello Fog team,
is it possible to put image on USB stick and use it for deployment ? we need some ideas on how to re-image computers at remote offices. we thought of doing it thru WAN but that will impact our network. please help.
Please resolved this post. we went virtual machine route to capture image and it worked.
Thank you for support.
trying to capture Win10 image from T470 laptop but keep getting an error.picture attached. this is my second capture.first one was win7 on same model laptop that worked but not this.
I will try it out and post update here.
All our disks have 2 partitions. which are created by windows when it was installed. system reserved 100MB & rest is drive. here are pictures i took from FOG…could you help me select correct options. it’s bit confusing for me. our FOG version is 1.5.4
can you deploy image to smaller target disk (SSD or HDD) ? or it has to be same like source disk where the images came from ?
Dumb switch solved the issue. Please resolved this thread.
Thank you for your assistance.
we have default spanning tree enabled on switches. can’t mess with that sorry.
i tried debug deploy option but can’t seems to figure out how exactly to do it.
This isn’t spanning tree related. if it was why would it get an IP at the beginning. computer is getting DHCP address then it loads the fog menu. then I do not see any reason for it to forget an ip and try re contacting DHCP.
Fog suppose to work like this ? anybody seen this issue before ?
I PXE booted Lenovo T420 laptop and got to the FOG menu and selected Full host registration then laptop seems to loose connectivity and trying to contact DHCP again.
Full host registration not going thru. don’t know why it’s trying to contact DHCP server again ?
Here is screenshot.
Tom, Thank you so much for help on this. it did work. i noticed on Fog dashboard. disk space shows 190gb.
can i not move /images to /home ? this will solve the issue i think.
currently /images shows up under root.
how can we correct it ? I want all available size to go to /images directory.
this is what i was talking about. screenshot of fog dashboard.
we basically want maximum possible size for /images directory so we can store more images there.
we completed setting up FOG in CentOs7 in VM. we assigned 250GB hard drive space. now when i opened up FOG webpage i noticed Storage Node Disk Usage where it shows 46.35 free and 3.63 used. is this a location where images will be saved ?
if so 46.35 GB won’t be enough. why would it only shows that much. how can i increase it ?
appreciate help on these questions
Would you like to setup a router address for the DHCP server? [Y/n] n
No. A router is not part of this simple isolated network. (is it asking for our gateway or dhcp address)
Would you like to setup a DNS address for the DHCP server and client boot image? [Y/n] ( please explain this)
we like to setup fog in our existing network. we have gateway and separate dhcp server & dns server.
