I did a new FOG install and I had the same issue there, that time without using dhcpd, I elected to install the dhcp service (and disabled the dhcp on my router temporarily). I could pxe boot fine to get to the FOG menu and even boot to local disk from that menu, but trying to register or do a scheduled task, still got stuck on the bzImage or Init spots.
I’ve since flipped back to my permanent server, fyi. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I have this HP laptop that is two years old and I got it registered into my FOG server and is set to PXE boot first and it works great (will boot to local hard drive and I did un register and re-register it from the PXE boot menu). However, when I schedule a Capture Image task, its getting stuck when loading either the bzImage or Init files.
I have captured images from 5 other computers successfully so far, the latest one being after I saw this issue with the HP laptop. The kicker is, this laptop was the one I used while testing out the Capturing a week ago or so, which was successful a couple times.
I will say that I did have to uninstall dnsmasq and install dhcpd in order to get the option to boot from local disk (currently default for all my computers here at home) to work. WOL also is working great, on this HP laptop and all the other computers.
I’m not a linux guru by any stretch, but I am familiar with Linux. I am using Ubuntu 22.04 and FOG is the only ‘big’ software installed. If anyone has any suggested changes and to which file, I’m all ears. Thanks in advance!
