Quick Delete * Weird One
Okay…first off i’m the one in a million guy,.
If you do a quick delete of PC1 and you know that inside the FOG server PC1 is already there and working (not sure how the host I need to reimage got the PC1 name), will it try to delete the PC1 on the FOG Server, which is correct and working? I’m trying to reimage PC2, but it shows the hostname as PC1, but the MAC on the machine (PC2) is NOT the same as what PC1 shows on the FOG server?
Sorry…clear as mud? Will Quick Delete, delete only the hostname that’s currently on PC2, so I can put in the correct name and continue on without deleting the PC1 hostname and config that’s on the FOG server?
PC2 is nowhere to be found on the FOG server.
Please advise… If it can happen…it’s gonna happen to me LOL

RE: REboot Server
@wayne-workman thank you! I was wondering if there was a way to reboot from the web interface. My other problem is that it was previously setup by someone else and they did not share the password. So I’m still trying to chase that down, so far that’s been a no go.

REboot Server
Sorry for this elementary question. I’ve “inherited” the FOG responsibilities. We just received a new “batch” of dell 3080s and of course somehow they are different from our previous batch. There’s enough difference that FOG bombs now. Did some forums searching and determined I’d need to update the kernel. I think I did that, however FOG still bombs, and on the dashboard it looks like it’s still showing the previous kernel version. So how do I reboot the entire server? Tried searching forums, and of course you folks are way advanced than i, didn’t find anything this basic.
Any advice you can give this newbie, will be greatly appreciated.

Install New (Different)Image over Old(current) Image
FOG is sweet! It has help me deploy 250 new PCs by myself! But today I’ve ran into a new problem, I tried searching the forums.
Guys, I’m the guy that taught “murphy” everything he knows…
I put the wrong image on a PC, I want to get the correct image on it. What is the procedure for such? remove the old and then deploy new? deploy over top?
Please advise. I need the specifics, in first grader English, please.

RE: Terminal Option
Sorry…still new to the game here…I’m having issues with my KVM switch (sometimes FOG does NOT see
a keyboard and then it gets stuck in a loop. some of the admins here suggested that I try to get an
lspci output for the keyboard while plugged directly into the pc and then another directly after the kvm
keyboard is plugged in…so maybe they can see then the hardware, and then perhaps adding a driver,
to accomodate the kvm switch. They told me eXactly what you said…but I’m on the client side doing this…so that’s probably my problem…
Thanks. -
Terminal Option
Would there be a way or something to be able to drop down to a terminal, so one
could run linux commands?Maybe as part of the main menu screen an option a start terminal option?
Thanks…this is the best clone solution that has the best support!!

RE: Keyboard not recognized when using KVM switch
Sorry George, been squirreled in other projects…are these instructions for the server console or from the client? I’ve looked at the client side and don’t see the debug box?? I’m a little familiar with Linux, but I don’t see a place to drop down to a terminal to get the results for lspci. Could “open terminal” be put into the FOG main deploy menu…
Anything else I can try? Thanks!!
