@george1421 Hi george1421 , yes it is sad I was jumping for joy when I saw the initial ipxe message and it didnāt get very far. And no there was no mac address reference. Iām still using the Displaylink dock DA100 - we only have these types to plug into the usb for the Dell pcs. Anyway I will check with my office manager on Monday if she has other types just in case.

Error trying to save GPT partition tables when trying to Image Windows 10 desktop
Server
- FOG Version: Running Version 1.3.0-RC-36
- OS: Ubuntu
Client
- Service Version:
- OS:
Description
Hi there,
My Fog server has been working fine with various Windows machines and MACs , except this one particular HP8300 which Iāve newly reinstalled and configured Window 10 on a 240GB SSD drive internally. So Iām trying to work with HP8300 for the first time with Fog. It registers fine with FOG, but when I try to capture the image, it hangs for some time at " Saving original disk/parts UUIDs" and then much later I get this " error trying to save GPT partition tables and Boot loaders Arg passed /dev/sda ā¦" . I tried doing the whole process twice, reregister - create new image in fog, - but I still end up with the same error. Windows 10 works fine in the HP8300, Iām wondering if its some hardware error or something to do with Windows in that machine ?

RE: Dell XPS13 with Displaylink DA100
@Junkhacker I plugged in the ethernet into the Dell laptop via the dock and dock to usb when trying to boot via the usb stick where ipxe is on another usb port, and Iāve changed the dock - unfortunately only one type we have over here - so no surprise it didnāt work either - same dhcp fail message. Any other ideas I can try to pursue ? It feels so close but yet so farā¦

@george1421 Hi george1421. I did the steps in the link , step6 , I checked everything. and now when I stick the usb in the laptop and boot from usb, I now see āipxeā¦initialising devicesā which is good news! But then I got the ādhcp failedā message and press s to go to ipxe or reboot.

RE: Dell XPS13 with Displaylink DA100
Just spoke to the Dell technical support side on the phone. They said this particular Dell XPS 13 does not support PXE network booting at all. So it doesnāt matter if the Displaylink dock supports PXE boot or not.
